It looks like a taping from last season was paired with a more recent taping to create the August 27th episode. I noticed set and font differences in the second half-hour, and the sixty-second clock wasn't displayed above the Winner's Circle pyramid during that period. It just felt a bit different to me as well.

Yep, I recall somebody in the game show community saying that a game with Ice-T and Peri Gilpin didn't air last year, so this was that game. I remembered that mainly because of how strange the celebrity pairing was!

I was AMAZED that "Things at a Baptism" wasn't won. The contestant couldn't have given better clues for that subject!
HYO Winnings:
$46,241.21 (Participated in 6 games; on stage 4 times)

I love Clock Game!

There were indeed some excellent clues given. I was surprised the celebrity didn't say "Things at a Baptism" after saying "Things at a Christening" and not being correct. And I'm not sure it would have made a difference, but perhaps the contestant could have taken or changed to a "Protestant" approach.

"Famous Michaels" (Madison's fault; she didn't even think of "Strahan"(!)), as well as on other subjects.

"Jackson, Landon, George ... ." All that's needed, IMO.

Speaking of which, would "George," as in "George Michael," be acceptable? Ding or buzz.

Though I think the addition of "George" would likely be confusing, ding. :)

On what I believe is the penultimate Season Two episode (9/17/17), I will begin with a quote: "The police be beatin' people wit' it". This is how Leslie Jones described a baton. The contestant got it. Also, Kate Flannery began describing "Brazil" with a reference to and gesture at the bikini area. Upon mentioning the country, the contestant got it.

On another note, Willie Garson was an excellent player.

One big win and three close calls in the Winner's Circle this evening. "A dead remote control" was a fantastic clue for "Things That Require Batteries"; unfortunately, coming up with it took too much time. I remember seeing "Things That Are Arranged" on previous versions of Pyramid, and I recalled a good clue from those days: "old timey marriages". I thought of "Santa's nice kids" and "Santa's naughty kids" for "Types of Lists", to go along with "grocery" or "shopping". The contestant's "to-do" and "honey-do" were better clues though.

Any other good clues for "Things That Are Hollow" besides "a chocolate Easter bunny"?

No mention of it by the host, but last night the season finale aired. The highlight in my opinion: a $100,000 win. However, as a judge I probably would have buzzed the contestant for saying "croctile" instead of "crocodile" for "Kinds of Reptiles". Yes, she misspoke, but I thought that what she said was a bit leading. She was a good contestant overall, but a clue of "Lewis and Clark" for "Famous Brothers"??  (I immediately though of the Smothers and the Baldwins.)

Another contestant was correctly not given credit for "Things You Face" when she gave clues like "eyes", "nose", and "mouth" and Kal Penn said "Things On Your Face". I would have said "the music" and "your fears" for that one.

A funny moment: Kal Penn in the main game described "download" by mentioning porn. It worked. :)   And a great moment: Brandon winning the Mystery 7 trip with a fraction of a second left. (Thanks Kal!)

So ends the season. Will there be a season 3? If so, will we have to wait until next summer for it? Strahan did mention the casting website last week, but I did read about ratings dropping over the course of this season. That and just a feeling of mine tell me that the show wouldn't do well as a weekday program like Price, Jeopardy! or Wheel. Interesting, because I grew up watching several if not many weekday game shows.

Should certain things be changed? For one, I would really move away from the crude and sexual innuendo and raise the intellectual tone a bit.

Still a great game regardless. :)

That likely would've gotten a "read it again!" from Dick Clark if that had happened in the 80s run.

Yeah; I particularly remember DIck Clark saying that when Dick Cavett gave some clue along with "pie" for "Famous Deserts".

Crude and sexual innuendo is what brings in ratings, not intellectual tone unfortunately.

I don't know about that. Examples: Wheel and Jeopardy!

First, Pyramid (and Feud, And Match Game) have been renewed. http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/celebrity-family-feud-pyramid-tca-1202516914/

Second- It's ten PM. It's 2017. There's bound to be some innuendo. The original ones weren't even immune to it!

But then again, the originals didn't go out of their way to invoke it, either.

The above is my opinion and mine alone.

To answer your questions: yes, I am a guy and yes, I have a face. (I also have the occasional spurt of weirdness.)
