An Alright show.

The Article from a couple of weeks ago spoiled what was going to be play today, or at least 5 of the games ( Time is Money, Hot Seat , or Pay The Rent was going to be the 6th game )

Nice theme for today's show, with all six games having debuted in the Drew era (although Time is Money's origins actually go back to Season 32).

Four down, one to go...

So does this show confirm the current version of Time is Money that debuted with Drew it's own separate game?   Is it like Bullseye and Balance Game?

It's considered a reactivation of the original game according to the FAQ. Remember that Card Game was played on the 2010s show of Decades Week in season 44 even though it obviously debuted well before that and there's no considering it a separate game like with Time is Money.

I'd say a game has to change its rule's and purpose to be considered it's own separate game

Bargain game is not new, it has the exact same rules as the origional

Time is money is completely different than the original

Mmm, I'm going to disagree. The basic premise of the game of sorting the grocery items into the ranges of < $3, $3-$6 and > $6 is still the game as it was in season 32. Considering that the original version of Time is Money went through a couple of rule changes itself, the $20,000 countdown could still be considered a rule change whereas games like the current versions of Balance Game and Bullseye are played completely differently from their predecessors and have completely different premises.

The show seems to consider it new, but I'd say that's at best a dubious claim -- it's clearly a reworking of the original format as opposed to a new concept with a reused name.  If anything, it's a bit of both -- I tend to regard it as a mk2 or a 2.0.

Oh, and bidding $95 on Rat Race's third item is a really good way to make me root against you in the Showcase Showdown.
