Good save on getting the last two right on the first try in 10 Chances!

We finally know the complete set of rules in Gridlock!, where you can make one mistake and still continue, but a second one ends the game. And thank goodness it was won this time!

Tough Hi Lo, I thought the last item to pick besides the shampoo and pain relief would be between the syrup and dusting spray and not the dental picks.

An excellently played 10 Chances other than the $35 guess!

So now we know in Gridlock you only get one wrong guess total. I like it that way since it would be a little too easy with one second chance per choice set. Unless they're in big time budget mode the first set should at least be easy enough to get in 2 tries so the game isn't a wipeout.

The first Showcase had potential because it showed some backstage components, but the prizes offered had no real rhyme or reason.

I noticed a change in the gameplay (well, sort of) in Gridlock; they no longer put the guesses into the price on the screen until after they are revealed to be correct.  A number of people in the audience at the first playing saw the numbers go up and thought that they were correct.  I remember a similar problem when Double Digits was played in the 1970s; Bob had to remind the audience that, unlike with Any Number, the digits being shown were the contestant's guesses, and were not necessarily right.

When he aced the video games in Ten Chances, that was pretty much a lock.  There weren't really any other options than 14670, 14760, 16470, 16740, 17460, and 17640, and with six chances it would have taken some true idiocy to screw that up.

What's the point of Gridlock if it takes 4 minutes and 40 seconds like today? Maybe some of that was 10C going really short but it seems to take quite a long time to reset the cars on a mistake in particular.

this should have been noticed in rehearsal, but at least it was fixed quickly? There could be a couple earlier taped playings though before this is fully ironed out.

10 Chances! One of my favorite games. And yes, I'm still hoping it will be played for a $50K plus automobile someday (soon). I was also wondering about the last time a contestant won all three prizes like that. Thanks for the info. What a win.

Also, I hadn't seen the turntable used in a showcase in a while before today. And I'm a little surprised that with all the technological upgrading the production team seems to favor (including in Bonus Game ) that they still use actual cue cards. Does someone actually write out in large print all of the copy George has to read during, for example, Most Expensive? If so, wow.

I think when you put the car in for Ten Chances you meant a 2017 or 2018 Accent Value Edition, not a 2012 Accent Valve Edition.

For Most Expensive et al., the introduction that George reads as the doors are opening ("A steam washer and dryer, designer accessories, and a new billiards table") are written on a card (or just memorized by George). George reads from a script page for the first two prize plugs, then hands it off right before the shot transitions to the third prize, where he reads the copy off of cue cards.

You can get an idea of the process in action by watching the clip where George falls off the treadmill. The reason he fell was because he was trying to dismount the treadmill and preparing to read from the script at the same time.

For what it's worth, I'd have won Hi Lo.

Man, Drew isn't even pretending bad guesses in Ten Chances could be right anymore.

They seem to be working on the presentation for Gridlock!.  It still needs some work, but at least they aren't putting the numbers up before we know if they're right now.  If they can combine that with the roadblock graphics from the first playing, I think they might have something.

Sorry for the delay on this but i just viewed the episode - If you are allowed one wrong guess in Gridlock, Drew should hand the contestant an "insurance marker" at the beginning of the game that says "Free Toll" or "EZ Pass" or something else related to highway/freeway driving.  It keeps with the theme of the game and serves as a visual reminder that the contestant still has a second chance. 

I don't like how they just did the sound effects during a close up of the cars to determine right or wrong - they need to come up with something more exciting.   Double Prices has a more exciting reveal than that.   They need to work on this.
