Now this is how you do a Halloween special! The superhero theme was done to perfection (with Rachel reprising Yodely Gal for a day, and a clever pun on Manuela's name), and it was kind of funny to hear the losing horns for going over in the SCSD. Vanquishing the evil Dr. Trombones five out of six times was a big plus, and it was awesome to see another $25,000 win in Punch-a-Bunch!

That was a great show with a sense of humor. When the only complaint you can make is that it wasn't a perfect show, you know they were running hot that day. Bonus points for playing the episode theme to the hilt.

This show totally made up for yesterday's show.

Everything was on point with the Halloween show. The Theme and Costumes were great.
Hearing the Losing Horns every time someone went over during the SCSD was a big plus.
That $25,000 win in Punch a Bunch came out of nowhere.
Only the 2nd $25k Win, since they Increased the Top Prize in Punch a Bunch ( Daytime ) , the other time being 6/19/14
Wonder when was the last time Cliffhangers was played on Back to Back Aired Shows?

I was dreading how this show would turn out after yesterday, but man, they nailed it! And a 5-out-of-6er to boot, with a $25,000 Punch win included! That was a show and a half!

Loved that five out of six games were won. The perfect show was within our grasp and it's hard not to feel a little disappointed when it was One Wrong Price that cost it instead of Punch-a-Bunch, but to be fair, that $4,000 refrigerator threw me too.

Did not care for the Prize League gimmick at all... especially since Drew kept, basically, half-assing it by calling George by his real name periodically instead of The Plinkster and kept getting James' Ab Man name wrong. Either commit to the bit or don't do it.

I'm sorry, but I didn't care for Dr. Trombones at all! I'm apt to mute the TV when and if there's a double showcase overbid, and putting a personality to that dreadful sound effect is even worse! If I wanted to see a game show villain pop up like that, I'd watch Nick Arcade or one of Barry-Enright's game shows! :boo:

That's why I stated Daytime for that. I was only counting the wins that Happened during the Daytime shows.

They could have thrown in...in costume cameos by Ryan Reynolds,Gal Gadot,Supergirl cast ,etc.
Even George Clooney as Batman showing off a Nespresso...
That sort of thing.
And the top prize on Punch-A-Bunch has been won a few times when it was $ 10,000

The thing is, when the top prize was $10,000, there were two separate $10,000 slips. There's only one $25,000 slip on the board nowadays.

This was one of the BEST shows of the Drew era, IMO. That's how you do a Halloween theme, ladies and gentlemen. That intro with the set going wild was just awesome.

Goodness they must have spent a pretty penny on those costumes and graphics. Although given the fact they didn't really have any other decorations on the set other than a couple of spotlights and new prize backdrops, they probably didn't spend that much more than any other year. They really make the most out of half the set being covered in monitors and LEDs.

Dr./Mr. Trombones was the perfect concept for a supervillain... with an animated character to boot! I laughed out loud when he darted across the screen at the Big Wheel in Whammy-esque fashion. I love how they aren't afraid to celebrate the kitschiness of the show after so many years of trying to make it something it's not.

The only sour note I found in the hour was during Punch, when I realized that much of the fun of the game came out of Bob chiding the contestants. Just saying "Guess what, you just won $25,000," while fun, just doesn't have the same entertainment value for me. Build it up a little.

Please, you do 10 seasons worth 180 shows and tell me that you wouldn't make the same mistake.

Drew used to be an actor. I don't ever remember him calling Oswald "Diedrich" on The Drew Carey Show. I really don't think It's asking too much that he remember, at least the announcer's, gimmick name for one one-hour special. Like I said, commit to the bit.

Ultimately it doesn't really matter. Like I said, I didn't care for the theme of the show to begin with. Drew not really committing to it (like complaining about his eyepatch, among other things) made me even more indifferent.
