There is some truth to what you say about Goodson standing up to Barker, however, Barker might have quit if he didn't get his way and CBS could have cancelled the show without Barker. Also, you are evaluating the situation with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight, which Goodson didn't have when he made that decision.

Sounds like it could be a good show, hopefully a comedy/drama along the lines of "Mad Men."  I wonder what they'll call the show-within-a-show that is supposed to be TPiR ("The Cost Is Correct" is probably a bit too on-the-nose).  Also, I hope the portrayal of Not Bob is a bit more nuanced than the stereotypical "evil game show host" caricature.

Well you're not going to believe this one!!!  Turns out Barker's been sued by yet another female employee.  I've lost count of how many that makes, but I will try to find out and return with the deets!

At latest count Bob Barker has been sued by ten female employees (unless someone here has a different total).

What's funny about Ms. Mancia is that years ago Holly was getting gas at a station in Hollywood and a Mexican woman recognized her and came over and started crying.  She told Holly that she worked for Bob Barker and that he was so mean and nasty to her, and refused to pay her money he owed her.  Holly said "I didn't know what to do.  She was begging me to please talk to Barker and tell him to pay her the money he owed her and to be nicer to her.  I'm thinking 'Oh yeah, I can just imagine having THAT conversation'.  I had no idea what to say to this poor woman, and I couldn't leave because I was filling my tank.  I felt terrible."

When a friend who recalled that incident sent Holly the news that Barker had been sued by his housekeeper,  Holly sent the email to the Pentellits and added "But guess what?  Here's the kicker...it's not the same woman!"

@gameshowfan1987, I can tell you exactly why the Pentellits stopped posting here.  Its simply because we finished.  The intent of the original Pentellits was to give golden-roadies the OTHER side of the TPIR damage-control you were being spoonfed by that weasel Dobkowitz. Our criteria was that whatever we posted had to be verifiable either from court documents and/or first person interviews or accounts of people who would testify if called upon.  Once we did that, we were done here, except for the occasional related news.

Enjoy the show!  It is THE GREATEST GAME SHOW IN TELEVISION HISTORY, in our humble opinion!
