No hard feelings guys, but living where I do makes me a die-hard Sabres fan, and I have a feeling the team will go all the way this year. Our toughest competition will most likely be against the Red Wings in the final, who by the way are my pick for the Western Conference champs. If this match-up occurs, it's going to be a wild chase for the coveted cup!
You can go ahead and call me "Mr. Money Game"!

Totally true! Being from Buffalo... I am a total Sabres fan, too....

Brett Hull (a very hated man here in Buffalo because of his overtime goal that won the Stars the cup in '99) was on the radio early this morning saying that his prediction is that the Sabres will face the Ducks in the finals... I agree with his prediction..

Let's just hope theres not another "No Goal" controversy this time!

And I like your Rick Jeanneret quote, Flippy!

An exciting first day of the playoffs, especially in the West last night. San Jose beat Nashville, 5-4, in double OT, while Vancouver toppled Dallas 5-4 on Henrik Sedin's game-winner with just 1:54 left in the 4th OT. The DAL/VAN game was the 6th longest playoff game in NHL history.

This is why I love the Stanley Cup Playoffs!

Say goodbye to Nashville now-they needed to win both games at home really to have a shot in this series. This stinks-we have elite talent and yet probably won't get out of the first round.

So, did anybody stay up for the end of that game last night? I did. :-D

The New York Rangers are the first team to make it to the semifinals, having defeated Atlanta 4-2, giving NY a 4-game sweep over the Thrashers.

Atlanta really looked flat throughout the four games; they only spent a few minutes in the lead throughout the entire series.

Arrgh, if San Jose finishes off Nashville in 5 Barry Trotz should be fired. Nashville has too much talent to be going out in the first round, especially this year. No excuses whatsoever if they lose.

Also to Trotz: PLAY CHRIS MASON!!!

Hey, who knew the Thrashers would flame out like they did? They were a very solid team during the regular season, and if there's anyone that would know that here, it's me, considering we played them several times as division rivals. You even picked it to go seven games, so you can't do too much laughing. ;-)

(2) New Jersey vs. (4) Ottawa

Western Conference:
(1) Detroit vs. (5) San Jose
(2) Anaheim vs. (3) Vancouver

My (sure to be wrong) predictions:

You better be wrong about Ottawa. :D

Couldn't have asked for a better first round, in my opinion.  Ottawa and Vancouver won... Calgary lost... Calgary lost!...

As if getting an empty net goal wasn't good enough, the Stars neglected to put Turco back in net and suffered more embarassment with another empty net goal by VanCity.  Thank you for downing the Stars; I love you guys! ;)

I guess we got other teams to bicker about this season around, Heels? :-P
