Wrestling legend and faux pride of the Soviet Union (which he in real life hated for oppressing his native Croatia for decades, and used his classic character to peacefully strike back at) Nikolai Volkoff has passed on at 70:

Sorry to learn about Charlotte Rae's passing. Todd Bridges now stands alone, the last surviving original cast member of "Diff'rent Strokes."

FWIW: Mary Jo Catlett (joined 1982, played Pearl Gallagher, the last housekeeper) and Dan Cooksey (came on board in 1984 as Sam McKinney, Maggie's son and Arnold and Willis' stepbrother) also survive. A few recurring characters -- most notably Shavar Ross (Dudley, Arnold's best friend) -- also still walk among us.

Charlotte Rae was also the voice of Adrienne, the harried teacher from the 1994 cartoon The Itsy Bitsy Spider.

If my memory serves me right, she was also the voice of Pristine Figg in 1992's Tom & Jerry: The Movie.

He may have been a bit forgotten after Bret and Owen's careers took off, but the Anvil was just as good at his best (and after DiBiase, nobody had a better laugh in the Golden Age).

Aretha was nothing short of awesome. On SiriusXM's channel, they're saying the young "divas" of today can't hold a candle to her. And they're right.
