Indeed, the Bandit remains a touchstone comic figure to this day.  For millennials, he also won immortality voicing Charlie B. Barkin as well.  For we game show lovers, of course, his repeated appearances on Hollywood Squares and supervising role with Win, Lose or Draw gave him immortality to us.
