Minor nitpick, they should've done 350 / 3500 but I digress.

I definitely wouldn't have considered Plinko a loss, especially considering $35,000 is more than the grand prize of all except two of the cash games.

Today's Plinko playing was much more tolerable than the 30th anniversary all-Plinko show. For one, it occurred on the correct date rather than in September. The board increases also made sense other than replacing $500 with a smaller $350.

Pretty tough 2 For the Price of 1. All three choices were at least some difficult and $9xx looked more likely for the TV than $7xx.

Very easy Pushover, $6,398 was the only choice that really fit.

Hole in One- The sunflower seeds were definitely the first choice and mustard second, but the sparkling water and deodorant was a toss-up and the cleaner and eye drops were also. Great putting by Veronica!

Nice of Drew to remind everyone about the unofficial Plinko record set today.
The $35,000 slot is now the biggest amount ever hit for that middle slot overall ( previous high was $30,000 )

Just for the record, the contestant playing Plinko was "Ryan", without the "B".

There must be something about Ryan's and the game of Plinko, after last year's big win with the energetic Ryan Belz

I gotta agree here.  If anything, I would have considered any MAJOR dollar amount won playing PLINKO as a partial victory.  Cash on the low-end, then yes that would be considered a loss.

This from the FAQ that Steve works well on is what I use:

Quote
Myth: Plinko is won if the center slot is hit at least once.
Fact: While some people like to consider Plinko as having been won if the contestant wins at least a certain amount of money because it’s boring to mark it as a loss all the time, in truth, the game is only regarded as a win if the player wins the full $25,000/$50,000/$100,000. As such, Plinko has never been won.

It's already recognized as a partial victory, but only slightly more than any other "partial" (Kitch used the term "technical loss" for those who got $10,000 or more in any game but did not officially win).

While this show was still overall good, that first half slotting just made no sense. If you're going to do mega Plinko, put it first. Or at least anything but frickin' Side 1st. 241 for a car 1st then Push 2nd even if you must. There have been quite a few shows this season that have bombed the first segment then recovered, this is another in that list.

They seem to make it up as they go along when adjusting the side amounts. 3500 for 100, but 350 for 500? If you're naive to tapedates, it looks like they were fearful of that 200 playing last Friday. :P

Of course in general, mega Plinko out of nowhere is dumb and the amounts were really awkward. They could have just done a clip of the first playing, keep the regular amounts as this was otherwise a completely normal show, and that arguably would have been better than what happened. That ship has all but sailed at this point though - at least Drew actually said on-air that yes, this record deserves to be asterisked. (And we still have the primetime 41k for now as well.) :frbs:
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

I'm assuming that the Plinko slot amount changes are temporary. I'd be surprised and kinda delighted to find out they're permanent.
