January 3, 2000 (TPIRob and Aaron Paul!)
« on: April 07, 2018, 11:57:33 AM »
I don't know why I am trying to do another episode. I must have high hopes, just like another contestant on today's show.

Original Air Date: January 3, 2000
Flashing graphics: HIGHEST RATED GAME SHOW/ MONEY! MONEY! MONEY!/ FUN! FUN! FUN!

Robert Rosta, COME ON DOWN!
Traci McClernane, COME ON DOWN!
Charletta Berg, COME ON DOWN!
Michelle Yacksis, COME ON DOWN!

Here's the star of The Price is Right, BOB BARKER!

One-Bid Item #1 - Lawn Tractor (White, 12 cc, 38" circle, 7 forward/reverse speeds)

(Bid in dollars, please.)

Michelle (F4): $3000, Bob!
Charletta (F4): $1500
Traci (F4): $1
Robert (F4): $1200

ARP: $1499, Robert come on stage! (Rip Charletta) (Turntable)

From MA, Robert looks at himself and thinks he needs to lose weight (840 shows recorded!, more impressive stats, he's a LFAT! His username on this forum is TPIRob.)

And Robert could win a BRAND NEW CAR! (Chevy Malibu, Alum Wheels, Malibu prefered package.) The Malibu is worth $18,685.

It's time to see how well he can spell C-A-R at the SPELLING BEE!

(He's ready to go, and wants Fingers to get him some water. They call out everyone.)

Robert's first two picks: 25 and 7

Now, he could win up to 3 more picks, by knowing these 3 SP's:

SP 1:Brita Water Filter for Pitchers
SP 2:3-piece Child Chinaware
SP 3:Handpainted kitchen utensil holder

He takes a little shot big gulp, and goes for the SPs
SP 1: Guess: $15
ARP: $20, off by $5!
Robert picks 27 for his wedding date.

SP 2: Guess: $17
ARP: $17, EXACTA- but wait? Is it $20? I don't even know at this point! MADNESS WRECKS THE STUDIO!
Oh, it's actually $44, so off by $27. No number here.

SP 3: Guess: $45? at first, and everyone is yelling $20! He changes to $20!
ARP: $20! TECHNICAL EXACTA! It's just as if he nailed all three prizes! I swear, I'm going to forget the $44 child dishes in Robert's total.
Robert picks 5 and 13

Picks: 25-7-27-5-13

$500 $500 $500 $500 $500
[][][]

Robert could just forget about the $18k car and take $2500. He isn't going to.

A $500 $500 $500 $500
[][A][]

$2000 now. He continues.

A C $500 $500 $500
[C][A][]

$1500 if he wants to bail. He's excited now, and is going for it. (GO! It's only an hour show!)

A C A $500 $500
[C][A][]

$1000, but he's going all the way!

A C A C $500
[C][A][]

$500, or he chances for one of 6 of the R's or 1 of the 2 CARs. Robert's going for it!

A C A C CAR
[C][A][CAR]

WHAT AN EVENT! (Robert's total: $20,268)
I'm going to be that stickler and call it a Technical Win. He wouldn't have had that fifth card if they didn't prematurely show 20 on the second eggcrate. Still, that amazing Spelling Bee isn't why this episode is well known to most other people...

Aaron Sturtevant, COME ON DOWN!
Aaron Paul is what you probably know him as. I mean, I interrupt sometimes, but not to the point where I am Breaking Bad. (You're THE MAN BOB!)

Aaron: $1200
Michelle (F4): $775, Bob!

(I'm touching Bob Barker!)

Let's play the DICE GAME!

"If any show, forget sports, Price is Right, [the audience is] the star of the show. Somebody... coming on down and losing their minds, and ... crying, that's the show. The show isn't me, the show isn't necessarily [a] can of soup, how much that is, it's watching people go bananas, and there's going to be some of that missing."

-Drew Carey, interview with Athletic, September 16, 2020

"I honestly thought the doubler was gone, but 9821 going $0 makes sense"

And of course, he went for redemption in the James Corden show, but still went over in the showcase and had to steal exercise equipment eventually.
