Magic # had a $2872 spread today, only to get one of the dumbest playings ever.
Plinko is the worst game the show ever made.

Also, another contestant fell victim to the "going for trips" rule.

Can I say a correction of was $1.10 not $1.00 in the first showcase showdown on the second spinner?

Always nice to see Triple Play, too bad it was lost on the second car. $20,645 definitely looked like the best choice, and alas it was.

Somewhat tough Coming or Going, although $7,175 was a bit too expensive looking.

The Pam and the Breath Savers must've been the Thens in Now or Then. I thought Pam for sure, but I thought the baby shampoo or hot chocolate might've been the other.

Very easy Magic # blown. There's no way the trip was going to be less than say $4,000, in fact I'm surprised it wasn't in the $5,000 range.

The razor was a toss-up in Master Key. At least Bene got the car washes.

That's how it is with me and Master Key-- I always like to see someone who plays that game win at least one of the prizes (it would be more exciting if they got 'em all, though); what I don't like is either a total wipeout (no keys won) or, if only one key is won, for that one key to be the blank.

When I saw Barbara try to bid $ 250,000 on that showcase on the TPIR Facebook page ,I said I could understand if it was a Million Dollar Spectacular or something like that but  :bork: that's a way out in space bid

I am beginning to wonder if they should just retire Magic# completely. This sort of playing is becoming too commonplace, despite pains by the staff to make it as easy as possible (as today's playing you'd think would be).

Next time, I bet we see a playing where one of the prizes is $500, the other $5,000 ... and the contestants still somehow still blows it.

My two cents... if Roger were still producing, Magic # would almost certainly be on the road to retirement, if not gone already, with the way it's going lately. But, it seems the current regime almost aims for losses, so Magic # is still probably secure (and Dr. Trombones is here to stay).

Or they could fix the game by either defaulting the starting price at $1000, or offer the Magic# as a cash prize. Might get people to go higher.
