All in all, not a bad show to close out the first week of Season 47, but those crushing defeats in Check-Out and Shell Game really took the fun out of it.

Shell Game was totally devastating.

I feel like Check Out was the more devastating one because I've never quite seen a game of Check Out played so well up to that point.

I agree. However, if you ask me, I think that both plays were devastating. I would've had Check out nailed, while Shell game was the proverbial crap shoot that, sadly, didn't pan out for Nelson, especially since I would've had the last small prize right on the nose!

Getting wins on both That's Too Much and Lucky 7 on their first playings of the year is great.

Keep in mind today's episode was meant to air on November 13, and what is currently scheduled as the 11/13 episode was meant to air today.  The best guess as to why that I have heard so far is, "Trip to North Carolina."

Bargain Game couldn't have been any easier with the handbag bargain price being more than $2,000 below the TV.

Very tough loss in Check Out. The $9.99 Gold Bond claims yet another victim. The make your own vacation package was a pretty odd prize, I wonder what kind of limitations there were on the choices of location and accomodations.

All I've seen so far is the Check-Out playing, and I really have to give it to that guy. He played VERY, VERY well.

Then he got screwed over by a bottle of lotion.

All I can say is wow. Check-Out can be an instantaneously cruel game. Just like that, on that last item, he loses. This was even more painful than yesterday's Pathfinder wipeout.

Okay, now that I went back and watched the Shell Game, I could really tell that Drew wasn't happy about that -- even without him saying a word about it. Just throwing the ball and the shell was enough to make it known that he did not like that loss.

I don't blame him-- it seems to me that he said in actions what Bob would oftentimes use words to say on losses like that: "What a miserable loss!" or "Rare bad luck!" or similar.

I had a pretty good idea that Yesualdo had lost Check-Out as soon as he bid on the Gold Bond, but I never imagined he'd also bid so well on the other four items.  After that abrupt reversal of fortune, I'm kind of glad he ended up winning the Showcase.

Speaking of abrupt reversals of fortune, Shell Game went from 60 to zero in no time flat.  That was absolutely heartbreaking.

Lucky $even, on the other hand, was an incredible win.

Keep in mind today's episode was meant to air on November 13

October 23, actually.  Weeks 6 and 9 have more or less been swapped, too.

The best guess as to why that I have heard so far is, "Trip to North Carolina."

Given that this show was blatantly intended to function as part of premiere week even though it absolutely wasn't when the schedule first went up, I'm going to guess the change had more to do with how much was won on #8415K than with what any of the prizes were.

Speaking of Shell Game and Bob, I don’t think he would have raised the one shell without a chip first, unless he was pressed for time perhaps. He might have narrowed it down to two shells, one with a chip and one without and then asked the contestant which one to raise next. I saw him do that many times. Personally I would have built up to it as well.

Fantastic Lucky $even win!! :)

Nice to see two car game wins, as usual.

But two painful pricing game losses, and they both make it to the showcase. Makes me feel kind of awkward that only one can win (unless, against all odds, they tie).

An interesting way to end the first week of shows.

Is it just me, or did the interior of that Honda Fit look  like a black hole? At first I thought the rear windows were tinted, until I noticed it was rolled down.
