Winning Pay the Rent combo:

Attic--Breakfast Sandwiches ($10.99)
Second Floor--Heartburn Relief and Cat Food ($9.59)
First Floor--Cake Mix and Dressing ($7.28)
Mailbox--Cheese ($3.49)

Then again, those Jimmy Dean sausages were deceptively expensive, so that was definitely a forced loss.

Picking the two worst rats in Rat Race was also a huge disappointment.

Wow, I think three weeks is the shortest length of time between two Pay the Rent playings in the game's history. On top of that, Pay the Rent was actually played by someone who knew not to put the least expensive item in the mailbox. I am shook.

Too bad it was lost.

You could also swap the cake mix and the cheese in this setup and win.
Attic--Breakfast Sandwiches ($10.99)
Second Floor--Heartburn Relief and Cat Food ($9.59)
First Floor--Cheese and Dressing ($8.48)
Mailbox--Cake Mix ($2.29)

There's even a few more combos with the bottom two floors, but I think you had to have the Attic and Second Floor as in this setup to win.

I'd been shopping for breakfast sandwiches lately and I noticed those get expensive fast. A 4 pack is around 5 bucks where I am, let alone an 8 or whatever pack was on the show. Between that and the Xantac that it was a fairly tough setup. I'd like to think I'd have a chance since I knew about the sandwiches, but who knows?

The rest of the show felt forgettable. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing else really grabbed me in it.

Wow, I think three weeks is the shortest length of time between two Pay the Rent playings in the game's history.

In terms of calendar days , the fewest days between 2 playings is 7 days ( season 39 and season 40 both had instances of 2 playings in 7 days )
When it comes to actual new episodes , it was played on the final aired new episode of season 46 and the season 47 premiere episode ( back to back )

Good thing that wasn't me - I would have been the first player to lose with the first item (I am a firm believer in the "put the second most expensive item in the mailbox" strategy, and, while I knew the breakfast sandwiches were expensive, I also thought they were less then the Zantac).

I remember more about this episode even though it was the first of the four tapings I attended. There was a malfunction with Pay the Rent right when Brian was choosing his first grocery product. They stopped tape for a few minutes until the could reboot the game's set. He had originally chosen for the cat food to go in the mailbox but during the stop down he was convinced otherwise. I'm not sure if any of you LFaTs noticed but June's companion was Michael, who bid $2,148 on a motor scooter and played Buy or Sell in Season 31 (it's one of the most viewed TPIR videos on YouTube in case anyone is interested). I met them during breakfast the following day and June was happy to have had the experience even if 'those dang rats' weren't too nice to her. David and his friends were absolutely wonderful. They attended the Tuesday and Wednesday morning tapings with me and my dad and I'm planning on joining them for another trip to the show next summer.

Adam, this is a long shot, but was there any indication that Double Prices might have been subbed in for Coming or Going?  I'd think the clip played at the end of the previous act was added in post, but between that and the setup, which was literally Coming or Going on the Double Prices board, it's hard not to wonder.

Either that or he doesn't own a cat and is unaware that cat food costs very little.
