This entire episode was a disaster, up until the $338 difference in the Showcase.

I don’t know what was more disappointing, a player lowballing Magic Number YET AGAIN, or a player losing by 5¢ on Pocket Change.

Agreed, this episode was one gigantic ball of suck-i-tude.  I don't even think the low Showcase difference saved it. I was almost hitting my head on the desk here with that low Magic# bid. IMO that game is set up so that only an idiot can lose it, and, well........

Pretty generous Five Price Tags with two false items and the board game at $25 should've been an easy win. $22,870 and $23,595 were the two most likely prices for the Jeep.

Super easy Magic # setup that absolutely should've been won.

I was pretty sure about the rice cakes being the correct choice in Vend-o-Price. The tomatoes were definitely going to be much lower and the pickles likely not super expensive.

2 was the fairly easy choice in Pick-a-Number, with 0 being in the price already and 4 likely making it too much.

Great bid by Freda on her Showcase, just shy of a DSW!

Tough show. I think the setups were fairly winnable here, things didn't work out regardless. There were plenty of reasonable setups here that didn't come home. That all being said, I don't think it was a bad episode. Forgettable for sure, but not a bad episode.

I don't know what's wrong with Magic # or how to fix it, but it keeps happening. I wonder why?

Wow. So close in Pocket Change.

As a classical music fan and a Mustang fan, I really enjoyed the second showcase. Got a bit of an nice old-school feeling seeing a grand piano offered, even if it was digital, and I liked the classical cue as well.

Flip Flop was tough.  I too said FLIP FLOP along with Kyle.  Tough break.

Poor Geana on Pocket Change.  That third digit was VERY tricky.  I did say 5 for that third digit too.  I was impressed she nailed the second and fourth digits on the nose.

Did we hear the losing horns all 6 times?    I picked up on it in the 2nd half and I couldn't recall.

Yes, we did. Also, there was a sound effects glitch at the end of Pocket ¢hange, where the buzzer was sounded first, then the ding and finally the losing horns. It's been a while since that game didn't use the foghorn to denote a loss.

Drew tried SO HARD to get Kimberly to raise her Magic # without outright saying it. He must have said words along the lines of "You think that's higher than the computer?" about three times, and yet she LOWERED her # after that.

A while ago, someone here suggested making your Magic # into an additional cash prize - that would be one way to entice people into picking a higher value!

And speaking of unforced errors... that was some acute Falsitis there.

I do think making the Magic # a bonus cash prize is probably the only way to make contestants set it to a higher number too, although most likely they would start making the range between the two prizes a lot smaller.

What's everybody complaining about with this show?  Yes, there were a ton of losses, but other than that and Kimberly pulling off the seemingly impossible feat of making me root against someone with a picture of Mr. Rogers on her shirt by utterly bungling Magic #, there wasn't really anything bad about it.

I like the new price holders in Five Price Tags.  They blend in much better with the rest of the podiums.

Has anyone else noticed that several times this season, the border on one of the Contestants' Row displays will temporarily turn blue for no apparent reason?  I wonder what would cause something like that.

Because I’m not able to watch the show in its entirety every day (school), I thought it was a new, permanent thing. I’m confused as to why it occasionally turns blue too

Just caught this episode.  I truly think today's contestant pool just doesn't comprehend basic instructions.  They continue to think setting the magic # $5-$10 above the first prize is the right way to play this game.  I really think that during the commercial they should speak to the losing contestants to better understand their interpretation of the rules.  Maybe the explanation of the game needs to be rewritten.  Maybe the game needs to be staged differently.  There is something today's contestant is just not getting with this game.  Instead of starting at $0, maybe the magic# should start at $9,999 and the contestant has to lower the magic number instead of raise it?  I just don't know...
