Well, rotten luck ruled today's show. At least the no quickie lineup was cool.

I may not have been born the last time someone walked away in the Grand Game. Too bad it prevented the third big win of the week.

I had the feeling that Bonus Game was set up for a loss.

Also, I’m surprised they didn’t increase the bonus for a perfect One Bid to $1,000 or something.

If this was the only Big Money Week I've ever seen, then I'd say this was an awesome week.  But, since I've been spoiled with $250K Cliffy, $200K Rent, and $250K Punchy, it seems so ho-hum.  Still, seeing a $52K Double Dollar was the definite highlight of the week, because a Double Dollar is RARE.

I wonder if they took out insurance for some of the bigger games, in case someone hit the $200K twice in Million Dollar Plinko.

That was a cool show, with the GP-SP-GP patterns in both halves.

There were not one, not two, but three painful moments in the show, with a bailout in Grand Game and last-second losses in Bonus Game and Pass the Buck, but otherwise, it was still very enjoyable.

You know a show’s bad when the highlight is a Bullseye win.

I was disappointed they didn’t do Cliffy for a $250K jackpot until I did some math. With the 23 steps Yodely Guy took in this playing, fellow Kentuckian Stephen still would have won $20K. On the other hand, a 20-30-40 would have produced a quarter millionaire in a jackpot playing. Oh well.

Not sure why Maleaka bailed out in Grand Game- it was pretty clear the dressing was below the target price.

Painful loss in Bonus Game, of course they put the bonus in the SP that was the most difficult.

It's not too often contestants actually overshoot the real total in Check Game. I was quite surprised how cheap the chimichungas were and I thought the conditioner would be a dollar or two more.

Wow, the SPs in Cliff Hangers were actually $20-$30-$40 today. Could've been an exacta if a true LFAT played.

Good thing Stephen got the 2nd small prize exactly right or he might have lost on the 3rd one.  Shame Laura got both lose everythings; especially after getting $5,000 on the 2nd pick.  Unfortunate losses in Grand Game and Bonus Game kept this from being a much better show than it could've been.

Actually split between three (since that is as many as you can pick) - the $25,000 $15,000 and $10,000.  The $5,000 was just there to fill the spot, I guess.

There is literally no scenario in which someone could reasonably go for $50,000 and have each decision be the best possible choice along the way.

First pick, let's say they hit $10,000.  The five possible outcomes if going again are +5k, +15k, +25k, -10k, -10k.  Add all that together and divide by the total number of possible picks, the expected value of taking another pick with $10,000 on the line to lose is $5,000.

So let's be nice and assume they get $15,000 on the second choice.  That's the least they could possibly have and potentially have the max prize still on the board enticing them to play on.  That means they have $25,000 to lose, and the four remaining possible choices are +5k, +25k, -25k, and -25k.  Add 'em all up and divide by the 4 possible picks, the expected value of going on in this scenario is *-$5,000*.

Saying Pass the Buck is being played for $50,000 in that scenario is like saying Plinko is being played for $1,000,000 - or even played for $50,000 during standard daytime.  It cheapens what that's supposed to stand for.

Not sure if this is a permanent change, but I noticed that the Bonus Game prize descriptions/prices were not outlined in red as they had been since the board refurb.

I don't blame the contestant for stopping with $5,000 in Grand Game. At one time in my life I had only $8 and change in the bank, so I know how $5K could make a huge difference.

Pass The Buck! One of my favorite games! Three picks earned! Bad luck though, unfortunately.

Saying Pass the Buck is being played for $50,000 in that scenario is like saying Plinko is being played for $1,000,000 - or even played for $50,000 during standard daytime.  It cheapens what that's supposed to stand for.

If I remember correctly, all George says is that you have a chance to win such-and-such amount of money. And that is true.

By the way, you can certainly use expected value in the $50,000 win scenario, but you can also consider it this way. If you have earned three picks, and the first two are cash, there is a 50-50 chance of winning more cash on the third pick. A mere coin toss.    Now, as far as going for it....

Not a bad show or bad week, overall. Wish we could have gotten a win from Grand Game, no way that dressing was over $5.00.

Personally I found the vacuum to be the difficult item in Bonus Game, I though the wok was easily less than $79, didn't think there was any way it could have been higher.
