I haven't watched that much in a long while, but......is it me or is Drew bored with the show? He seemed really unenthusaed with things, considering some of the moments that happened here with a nail biting Clock Game and a very animiated contestant winning two cars. Could be an anomaly for the episode without watching many others in a spell, but he just seemed to be sorta flat in his tone for a lot of the show.

I remember during the Barker era, the price was never shown if Lucky $even was lost before the last digit. This has to be a Drew-era first.

I wouldn't blame Drew for that, especially considering that only two games were won.

After a very easy One Wrong Price, Lucky $even was just mean with the 8 and 9 in the price.

Painful Plinko with just $200 won and very painful Clock Game loss.

Couldn't believe the mouthwash was less than the crackers in Hole in One. I was between the mouthwash and potato skins to go before the cold relief. No trouble though as Jeffry easily made the putt.

Tough Push Over- $5947, $9476, and $7610 all looked good.

Don't blame the game, blame the stupid chip placement by contestants.

I agree. It makes me wonder if TPIR is even worth watching anymore. When you go back into the time capsule that is Youtube and see how Bob handled the various contestants, some obnoxious (remember Evan Goding?) the cheaters (remember Flip-Flop?) the set malfunctions (Squeeze Play is a prime example), and the incidents (one that comes to mind is Dian's amazing putt in Hole in One). Then, when you contrast all that with Drew and episodes of today, it kind of makes you wonder. Of course I can point out a few good moments in Drew's reign also. There was the 80K on the wheel, or when Manuela accidentally revealed the car price in Five Price Tags (that was a biggie). Maybe I'm missing some good incidents of Drew's tenure, and maybe he does a much better job than I realize, but it just seems to me that Bob did much better as host.

Agreed?

At times for sure, although certainly by the end Bob was kinda going through the motions himself. But he definitely had a way with dealing with contestants that has been missing since he left. Not to say there isn't things Drew does/did that Bob didn't. Like I really feel the family feel of the show came back when Drew took over especially after the first few years once he had settled into the role and George came on the scene as announcer. And he's friendlier to the contestants than perhaps Bob ever was, more geunine. But....maybe after 11 years now, it is starting to wear on him? Only he'd know, but it's possible.

In Drew's defense, when Bob began hosting Price, he already had 17 years of hosting experience with T or C.  That being said, Drew's now in his 12th season if my math is correct.  When he seems less than enthused or seems like he is phoning it in, it makes me think that so many others on this board, including yours truly who covets that job, would perhaps at times do better at it.  Could I do better?  I don't know.  Would I hop at the chance?  Absolutely!

Remember when Super Bowls were blowouts?  They have so much hype, fanfare and hoopla and build up for a game that ended up being a snoozer more often than not.  This is how I feel about Plinko.  It seems so rare for players to win 5 chips anymore.  During the Barker era it seemed as though at least 90 to 95% of players won at least 3 of the 4 prizes and the chips that went with thos prizes.

So for this contestant to win all 5, only to end up with a piddly $200... gives the same feel as a Super Bowl blowout.  As for the argument about chip placement, I've seen people place chips all the way to the side and hit the center slot, and many aim for the center slot and end up in $100 or the zero.

Yes it is a game of chance and so unpredictable, but for pity sake, if a player wins a chip, let them win at least $100 in cash for pity sake.  Make the zeros into $100 and change the $100 end slots to $250.  Is that so much to ask for?

In addition, I have never been a fan at all of the pricing element of Plinko "Is the first number or the last number right?"  Give a choice of 2 prices, and if need be, maybe 3 choices for the 5th and final chip to make it somewhat challenging without it being impossible.

"Big rewards for smart shoppers."  A player earning all 4 chips winding up with $200, just seems very insulting.  By the time they pay federal and California state taxes on that $200, what do they end up with?

Sort of, but this is actually the November 13 episode.

Is it really that episode if they intend to air it earlier/later, despite the K number? Feels like that line is blurred more and more now.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...
