The WORST DWTS Winner Ever

Well, after an intense nine weeks of the competition, this wild and crazy 27th season of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" ended in the most controversial way possible.

Since that announcement, many social media users filled with outrage, frustration, and anger as Bobby Bones, one of the most consistent low-scoring celebrity ever, managed to upset Evanna Lynch, Milo Manheim, and Alexis Ren. I, for one, am truly and deeply disgusted at these turn of events. Netta Barzilai (ESC 2018), Shin Lim (AGT 2018), and Bobby Bones (DWTS 27) have one thing in common: WORST. WINNERS. EVER.

Perhaps the real problem with DWTS is that I have no idea who any of the 4 finalists are.
Seriously, I've never heard of any of them.

I haven’t watched DWTS for the better part of a decade, but I imagine the main cause is that the audience vote hasn’t been re-weighted in accordance with the show’s declining viewership: The show’s current ratings are like, what, 1/3 of what they were in the mid-to-late 2000’s? And looking up who Bobby Bones is, he’s apparently a country radio host, and since country radio is pretty much the most popular radio format in the U.S., he probably had a lot of listeners voting for him that didn’t even watch the show (granted, that’s always been an issue with DWTS, but it was better counteracted when the show actually had strong viewership).

You have to wonder if there will be any changes to the voting system for next season because of the fan outrage? Some of these range from judge's scores being weighted more heavily than viewer total to a possible judge's save like The Voice uses. It will be interesting to see what happens and it may not be back in the spring but next fall.

I don't think he's the worst DWTS winner; I'd argue a case for Hines Ward. He was a terribly stiff dancer who only won because he was on a football team with a huge fanbase.

I thought all three finalists were quite talented this year. And at least Bobby won and not, say, Grocery Store Joe.
