Do you think it was coincidence that Sandra's one bid was $2000, and Now... and Then's target year was 2000? How often you you feel they try to sneak easter eggs by us every day?

The implication being that they somehow changed the game based on her bid, rather than have the game already set up that way?

The item was $2000, ARP. The game’s year was 2000. Nothing was changed.

I heard George say "Feast For The Eyes" for the second showcase.  Not "Piece For The Eyes".

Just went through my DVR recording of today's show with the captions on and George indeed said "Feast For The Eyes".

But you implied that he implied that they changed the position/setup of Now...or Then based on the bid of a contestant which would be impossible on a whim. But that wasn't just the contestant's bid, it was also the ARP of the IUFB, which is decided before the show like the positioning/setup of the games and something they could've done on purpose.

They've snuck in random Easter eggs and references, so this was certainly plausible, but I don't think this was one of them.

Me: Of all of the game shows you've hosted, besides Jeopardy!, like High Rollers or Classic Concentration, which is your favorite?
Alex Trebek: I'd have to say To Tell The Truth, because it was the first time in my career that I got to sit down while I was hosting.

When I read the comment first I had just scanned the recap - I didn't pick up that $2000 was both the bid ant the ARP.  The comment was made in reference to the contestant's bid, not the ARP, so based on what I read, it looked like they said "wow, both the contestant's bid and the year in Now or Then were the same.  Do you think that was a coincidence?"  That was the basis of my initial reply.

The short version is: No, I don't think they manipulated the game in any way, and yes, it was just a coincidence.
