BRUTAL Dice Game loss there, she played the game according to the odds and still lost. Also on Pathfinder, knowing the contestant had the right price for that Lexus and changing it at the last minute. But to be honest, I would've bailed as well especially with one of the prizes being over $5000 in cash. That pays a lot of bills in my book.

Nice show today.
The last time Temptation offered more than $10,000 in just prizes alone was on 11/13/2009.

Dice Game was painfully disappointing. Today is one of those occasional reminders that a 4/5 chance isn't always what it seems to be.

In regards to the car in Temptation, I definitely thought that the last number was 2, considering that it had the paint and fabric protection. Almost always, when it has that, the price will NOT end in 0 or 5, unless they're playing Ten Chances or something. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case today. But $11,000+ worth of prizes (including $5000+ cash) is absolutely nothing to sneeze at.

There was also an unusually high number (at least in my book) of low bids, i.e. $275. IIRC the minimum value of the prize is like $500, right?

Also, a small correction to the recap: in the 2nd SCSD, it lists 60 cents as being over.

That Lexus in Temptation seemed … out of place. Like when Stack the Deck was played for a Cadillac last year. Both head scratchers.

Brutal Dice Game loss. On odds alone the last number was the only number that was in real question, but that 3rd number in the price just had to be a 6.

Very easy Vend-O-Price, Swap Meet was a toss-up between the guitar and TV.

Really thought the secret X would be in the middle since it wasn't played for a car or other more expensive than normal prize. Tough break there.

Temptation for the Lexus was definitely a surprise, I was expecting That's Too Much since 3 Strikes was played this week already. Stinks that she had the price without changing the last number, but a very nice bailout including a huge amount of cash.

I don't mind them playing more difficult car games for luxury cars once in a while.

Great to see the Lexus in Temptation.  The show needs to do these types of surprises more often so it was not out of place at all.  At issue of course is the $11,000 in prizes with roughly half of that in cash.  Who is going to risk that?  No one and the show knows it.  That was the only disappointing part.  I would not have done more than $3,500 in cash/$9,000 in prizes total.

Dude, it was Christmas week.  They'd already played Golden Road, 3 Strikes, and Pay the Rent by this point.  They were clearly going out of their way to offer big stuff.

Seriously, how did I not know this before? I looked up the stats- sure enough, it's always 5 or 0, usually going to be 5. I can't believe I've never noticed this trick before.

It's held in every playing of Temptation for at least 20 years, and probably a good bit longer than that.

Not entirely true - this playing from June 14th, 2011 stands apart from the rest.

I remember it vividly because I was the only one in chat that day that won the game.   :-)

Why is the last number in the car price always other than rare exception 0 or 5 in Temptation and not any other car game (besides Ten Chances)? I remember at one time 0 and 5 being the most common last numbers in the price of cars with a couple of exceptions in most pricing games but in the last ten years or so the last number in prices has varied a lot more.

I would say it's just one of the 'unspoken rules' of the show, like the 0 rule in 10 Chances.   And also because Temptation is hard enough to win as it is!
