I don’t honestly care that she won her prize.

Carla is honestly one of the worst Price is Right contestants I’ve seen in my life. Even when she was first called on down, she had no idea what to do. She had to be directed by Carey what to do next.

On Bonkers, the rules were clearly explained to her, and even when the rules were explained to her a SECOND time, she still had no idea what to do after she put down the paddles. She had no urgency whatsoever, despite Carey telling her that it’s a timed game and the very visible clock on the right side of the game board. When she managed to guess the right combination as time expired, I openly yelled “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!” Barker would’ve had a complete meltdown.  I was so relieved when she got eliminated in the SCSD.

I was LITERALLY bonking my head against my desk on the game playing.

I suspect that Carla may have done what she did on purpose -- if you listen to her as Drew explains the rules, she seems to understand them, even saying "It's gotta be all me." when he mentions not looking at the audience and getting in as many chances as she can.

By far the worst playing of Bonkers in its 17 years of existence.

The above is my opinion and mine alone.

To answer your questions: yes, I am a guy and yes, I have a face. (I also have the occasional spurt of weirdness.)

An almost skunked show saved by dumb luck in Bonkers.
It was also the 1st Bonkers win with no time left since 8/26/11

Only two guesses in Bonkers??? That has to be the most undeserving win in the history of that game.

I have to say I don't understand all the hatred at today's Bonkers player.

Yes, she didn't run fast like most players do, or like we might expect, but playing her way still led her to a win...so what does it matter? As long as she didn't cheat. The show is all about rewarding smart shoppers, after all, not fast shoppers.

I don't think it was "undeserved" at all. I also don't think it's fair to root against her at the Wheel just because she played a little differently.

Good television is about eliciting an emotional reaction from viewers. That playing of Bonkers certainly did that - whether it was frustration, anger, or joy at the eventual win.

I personally enjoyed the segment. I couldn't help but laugh, especially at the way Drew handled it at the end. The whole thing was bizarre, funny, and made for good television.

I would have been fine with resetting the clock for Carla and starting over once she began playing Bonkers. She clearly didn't understand something - otherwise a thick, sticky molasses seeped on to the stage and caused her to move in slow motion.

I suspect that Carla may have done what she did on purpose...

I don't think so. I'm not even sure how it's advantageous if she did.

Carla is honestly one of the worst Price is Right contestants I’ve seen in my life.

I would not go this far. Some of the antics by other contestants are way more offensive to me.

By far the worst playing of Bonkers in its 17 years of existence.

I might agree with this - except that she won, which by definition makes it a better playing than many others.

Dumb luck avoids a skunk. SMH.

I've rewatched that Bonkers playing a few times and I still groan every time I see it. Truly one of the luckiest (albeit "dumb-luckiest") players ever seen in the game. I think it was a pretty easy setup, but she did not exhibit any ability whatsoever to even get one guess up there. But good for her, she won, somehow. I just hope we see some quicker players in future playings of Bonkers.

Pick-a-Pair seemed to be set up to lose, with that cheap shampoo and assorted odd items. That threw me off.

One Wrong Price also seemed to be a set-up loss. I didn't know that a combo washer & dryer was 1100, let alone that they existed. I always thought that waterproofing the dryer part would be an issue. But I digress.

First time I've gone over in CSS today, by -$932. The sad thing is that had I shaved exactly $1,000 off my bid on SC1, I would have been $68 away, had a DSW, and would have cashed. Oh, well.
I didn't get called down, but the guy next to me did
Oops, that isn't true anymore

I just watched the Bonkers playing.

In the contestant's defense, Drew never explicitly tells her that if she hears the buzzer, she should run back and make changes. For the first half-minute of his explanation, a person unfamiliar with the game could easily assume that they have a maximum of 30 seconds to make their one guess. It isn't until he says "you want as many chances as you can" that it's implied that the player is allowed multiple attempts. But when Drew said that, Carla was still processing "don't look at the audience" and five seconds later, he told her to go.

The fact that she stepped backward after pressing the button tells me that she was always under the assumption that once she locked in her choices, she was done.

Yes Drew should've more explicit in telling her that she had as many attempts as possible in 30 seconds, but Carla also didn't seem to paying any attention to Drew at all as he spoke. She was pretty much just looking to the right and at the audience.
