Longtime animation director Richard Williams passes on at 86.  He's best known for the animated sequences of Who Framed Roger Rabbit; his other output included Raggedy Ann and Andy; a Musical Adventure and the long in development The Thief and the Cobbler on the big screen, plus several opening titles to some of the Pink Panther films, as well as the Emmy-winning Ziggy's Gift and the 1973 adaptation of A Christmas Carol that brought back Alistair Sim as Scrooge:
