Two passages to report today--one that I didn't not know about until last night.

First up, actor Danny Aiello (known for roles in films like "Moonstruck" and "Do the Right Thing") has passed away at age 86.

And a passing from back in March that I didn't know about until last night.

Japanese chef Masahiko Kobe, who served as the Iron Chef Italian on the original "Iron Chef" series from his debut in 1997 to the end of the series two years later, passed away from injuries from a fall at the age of 49 back on March 14th, 2019. Unfortunately, the only obituary I could find was a Japanese one.

Aiello also played Madonna's father in her video for "Papa Don't Preach".

Speaking of delayed announcements....it was reported that pro wrestling legend and later WWF road agent after his in-ring career ended, Rene Goulet (no relation to singer Robert Goulet BTW), passed away back in May at the age of 86. His family had chosen to keep it quiet up to now. No cause of death was given.

On that note, now seems the perfect time to pay tribute to another earlier passing that slipped under my radar previously:  longtime Rankin/Bass composer Maury Laws passed on March 28th at 95, so whenever you watch an R/B special for the rest of this year's holiday season, keep him in your thoughts, as his music for each special in no small part helped make them great
