Mark Hollis, 64, frontman of the 80's British New Wave band Talk Talk, best known in the US for their 1984 hit "It's My Life", which was remade by No Doubt in 2003.

David Horowitz, 81, consumer advocate; host of long-running syndicated series Fight Back!

David Horowitz was so dedicated to consumer protection that he even penned a book titled "Don't Get Ripped Off."  I used to enjoy watching his show Fight Back! in the late 80s and watching him perform tests to advertising claims like putting luggage in a cage of lions at a zoo or dipping a chandelier in cake batter to test a dish soap's claim.  RIP David Horowitz and thank you for protecting us consumers from deceptive advertising claims and defective products.

David Horowitz, one of the few to have a gun pointed at him on live television and take it with complete professionalism.

That incident with a realistic looking BB gun caused him.to crusade against realistic looking toy guns. This is why all the toy guns you see now have on orange cap or orange paint in front.

So, for that matter, was veteran Phoenix news anchor Bill Close; in 1982, during a taping of KOOL News 10, an armed psychotic made his way into the studio, holding a gun to Close and forcing him to read a bizarre apocalyptic story.

I've seen the late Bill Close's. Unlike the Horowitz one, we have the full thing. In Horowitz's case, they cut tape.
