George Gray Hosting TPIR Live
« on: January 20, 2019, 07:35:56 PM »
I went to TPIR Live yesterday at Pechanga Casino just north of San Diego, and George was the host. He did a great job interacting with the contestants and brought a lot of energy and humor to it. I can see him hosting the show someday if Drew was to ever step down.

Who would replace George as announcer though?

My favorite of all of the “temp” announcers after Rich’s departure was Jeff Davis—he seemed very estatic to be there and had a real respect for the job and those who came before him. He’d get my seal of approval.

I know he didn't get a lot of love, but I thought JD Roberto did really good, too. The Whose Line guys, they did all right, but I feel like the improv background made them try TOO hard, and they came off sounding like what the "stereotypical" game show announcer sounds like in a sitcom or parody. But I still love those guys. (Doing a skit on stage once with Colin & Brad will always be a badge of honor for me.)

But George was far and away the best choice. Today's Price embodies total fun and messing around, and George is great with that. So I completely buy him as a road host. I'd love to see him do it here in Jersey one day.
