Why do the Fireball showcases look decidedly way more expensive? Singapore is five digits, so it was a shock that Finland in an igllo was not (maybe close to it, I guess a leather chaise lounger was a bunch of nothing too). This was another brutal sea of red with 3 blown DSWs on 1 (the weird Mirror thing was in an OB once, it actually is a reasonable $2288), a tough WSD on the ending for points leader Thupa, and even a WOTC for good measure.

In the end there were only two survivors, both DSWs on 2 as this was nearly the minimum ARP. vhs will have to be content with just scoring, as Tris hard/soft DSWs with better bids on both.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

I still can’t figure out how Finland dropped by about 40%, just since being featured in a Dec 17 showcase.  Same hotel.  Same “igloo” accommodations. Days like today make me wonder how much pricing leeway Standards and Practices allow the show when the show budget needs to be cleaned up.  Apparently, a lot.

A near-identical trip simply shouldn’t drop by that amount (that %)in just a couple of months.

Something similar happened on Wed’s  pre-empted  broadcast. ( Thanks to our Canadian friends who posted on YT) .  A 12- day cruise of China was $5000 and change.  Ironically, the contestant still won!

Hey, whatever. I'm pretty damn content with surviving this carnage. Sure boosts my average.
