The hair dryer in 1/2 Off was $400, not $200.

That's what I wanted to comment about. I thought it was an easy win and that's what was intended, but I was wrong. (And so was Traci!)

Oh, and the $170 bid in #6 was comical. Every LFAT knows that IUFBs aren't below $500. I thought I misheard and she said $1170, but I guess not!

Okay, I gotta wonder, where did they get that hair dryer?  That did NOT look $400 to me.  Traci and I both picked the mixer.

For those of you who played along in the chat room today, how many of you picked the mixer during Half Off?

In Check Out, the first two items he was in good-to-OK shape. He just lowballed his guesses so much on the last three you’d begin to wonder if he had it lost by the fourth item.

Also agree about the hair dryer.

March 24th, 2006 was the date of the episode he was originally on.
So that would take it to Season 34, the show's penultimate one with Bob as host.

Had Robert gone over, we would've had another El Skunko, but thankfully, he prevented that, even though he was $100 away from a DSW.

The quick story: Robert wins a car with Bob, but fails to advance to the Showcase. Thirteen years later, he loses another car with Drew, and still manages to win the Showcase. Amazing how things can balance themselves out, isn't it?

Now Robert picked up $21,080 in winnings for this Season 47 episode but when you add his previous Season 34 (3/24/06) winnings of $17,233 (including a $16,529 Chrysler PT Cruiser) to that, then the grand total of his overall winnings is *$38,313!* Awesome! :-D

It’s at least tied, Rat Race’s premiere had a $400 Blu-Ray player.

Quote from: Bill Todman
"The sign of a good game, is when you don't have to explain it every day. The key is not simplicity, but apparent simplicity. Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but what makes for a skunked show (as opposed to just a winless one)?  Does the fact that a couple of small prizes were won in 1/2 Off count for anything?

(Maybe we should have a TPiR glossary or TPiR Wiktionary.)

Small prizes do not count as prizes being won when talking wins/losses. The top prize must be won for a full win, partial wins are when secondary prizes are won either in consolation or bailouts and prevent a total skunking.

Where on earth did they find a $400 hair dryer? My word.
