When I saw how well Karen was playing 10 Chances, I thought for sure it would be a cakewalk win. Then at Chance #7, she went into a tailspin. And I was nearly pounding my head going "NO NO NO!!"

I hear ya. She had such good luck with the price of the video game package too. But was it just that: good luck? Apparently she didn’t actually know the “zero rule”. Following that, and choosing only reasonable prices, she had more than enough chances to guarantee a car win.

Oh yeah... 10 Chances! One of my favorite games! :)

At least 1 Right Price was won, so no skunk today.

I had a sneaking suspicion that the car would be $19,870. Poor Karen couldn't see that. After 40 years of waiting to return to the show, you'd think she had this in the bag.

Vendo-Price was EVIL. There was less than a $2.00 difference between the total price of the fruit snacks and cereal.

B-U-D-G-E-T-M-O-D-E

Aside from that, I had $18,790 for 10C. When that didn't work, I went to $17,890. If Karen had known the zero rule, she might have won. And that last guess was hilarious, writing numbers down and crossing them out. It made me think of Joy back in '06.

Live for the present.  Embrace the future.  Our favorite game show is still producing excellent, high quality, exciting, hour-long* shows every weekday throughout its traditional season window.  It’s as good as it’s been in a long, long time.  If the 1980s were the ‘good ole days’ for the Barker era, so is RIGHT NOW for the Carey era.  Don’t worry about what the future holds.  It will play out in due time.  Enjoy what we have right in front of us in the meantime!

A lot of tough set-ups today, only a less than $600 difference between the two trips in One Right Price, the middle number rather than a low one was correct for the car in Switcheroo, Take Two and Side by Side were crapshoots, tough choice between the fruit snacks and cereal in Vend-o-Price, and surprisingly expensive car in 10 Chances.

Karen was such a pleasure and playing 10 Chances so well, then she just totally tailspins when she gets to the car. If only she switched the 7 and 8 around after her 9th guess.

I generally root for almost all contestants to win.

When Karen shot herself in the foot on Ten Chances, I was rooting against her in the Showcase, which (unfortunately) she won.

I wholly realize that not every contestant knows every little tactic for playing the games on The Price is Right.  The show couldn't exist at the level it does if everyone did, they'd have to budget mode like 90% of the season.  But she was on the show before!  She should know better!  Those who make it into the show twice I entirely expect to be LFaTs to some degree.  If they aren't, why are they being picked to be on twice?

I would love to be able to play Ten Chances, get myself into the situation Karen had for herself, and (if they allowed it) walk up to the next six slots and write down all six "correct" guesses, let Drew hit the buzzer one at a time as normal, knowing the car win was secure.

She was on the show 40 years ago, not last week.  I think you put way too much stock on the fact that she was on before should make her an expert in all things TPiR.

Was there any word on what show Karen was on 40 years ago?  Did she get up on stage when she was on with Bob?
