Finally, someone with some common sense on Temptation (to take the prizes and run)!

I haven’t been actively watching in some time, but hasn’t it been more often in recent years for people to take the prizes in Temptation, rather than go for the car?  That’s my impression, but I definitely could be wrong..

According to http://tpirstats.com/Other/PGStats4.html#tmp this season had 7 plays of Temptation, 5 with the player taking the gifts; 1 of those times, the player had the price of the car right. Last season was 4 gift-takings out of 7 plays; none of those players had the price right.

The last full win of Temptation was Season 44.

The reason I called what happened today "common sense" is because I always want the players of Temptation on TPIR to come out ahead with something to show for their playing of that game; sure, taxes must be paid even on those prizes, but that'd still be much easier (IMO) than having to pay them on a car (and paying them on a car might be a tall order if you don't win any money in the Showcase Showdown).

Yay for Jonathan from Walla Walla, only about 45-60 minutes southeast of my hometown! I was happy he won.

Too bad for another Card Game loss.
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

Temptation tells an interesting story about Budget Mode.

They've been trying to entice more people to go for the car in the past few playings. The last two playings offered $20K and $21K cars but offered prize packages just over $4K, cheaper than it's been for a while. Normally the car is usually around 3.5x the ARP of the prizes.

The fishbowl of cash especially has taken a hit the past few playings, hovering around $2,000, while last season it averaged about $3,400. The fishbowl is normally the most desirable and most expensive prize by far, so I read its value dropping as an effort to get people to break the streak and get a car won.

But still...it's hard to get tempted by 1/16 odds at winning a car whose price begins with 14 or 15. Unless you need to win a car, or are darn sure you have the right price, bailing was absolutely the right call IMO. Temptation isn't tempting unless the car being offered is tempting.

Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."

Anyone else in favor of Card Game getting another bump-up in the opening price? Maybe $18,000?

Definitely felt like they were looking for Temptation to be won with a pretty easy price setup and nothing overly tempting offered besides the $2,000 cash.

I knew Kaitlyn stopped way too early. Should've went at least to $21,000.

Pick a Pair should've been won with one of the $8.99 products being revealed since it was very likely the heartburn relief that matched it. The protein bars were the most likely $4.79 product to go with the quiches.

Anyone else in favor of Card Game getting another bump-up in the opening price? Maybe $18,000?
I could see that. It's been $15,000 for most of Drew's tenure and they upped it from $12,000 after only a few seasons.

I was worried that Le Vona could've won the car...until I saw the last digit.

Although I wouldn't be opposed to a higher opening bid, I think Card Game's range is fine as it is.
