That's correct.  Paid audience members are effectively employees of the show, so they can't compete in a game for prizes.

Hmmm... I didn’t know that. Thanks for the information. That would reduce the size of the potential pool of contestants from the audience, but perhaps would serve as incentive for more non-paid members to attend, if the producers wanted to go in that direction.
