I myself can't help wondering as well if 1991 would have been their year had he been able to play the whole season (so a word to the wise, never mention the name Bryce Paup in the Delaware Valley out loud).  You could also add to the argument management letting Cris Carter go after 1989; while he had some personality issues at the time, he likely would have flourished and settled down had he been given time.  He plus Mike Quick, had he been able to play a full career, would have been a pretty lethal combination for Cunningham in his prime to throw to--and perhaps, to go back even further, had Marion Campbell been smart enough to draft Jerry Rice in 1985 when he had the chance, even more so.

That's surprising, because I always thought the Pro Bowl worked the same way as the MLB All-Star Game, in which each team must have at least one representative on its respective conference's roster. And I don't know what the worst part about it is: that the game now takes place one week before the Super Bowl instead of after, or that the Super Bowl teams are exempt from it (BTW, when was that rule introduced?).

Dan Quinn and Thomas Dimitroff's jobs with the Falcons are safe. For at least another year. The team's 5-2 record since the bye week was a factor. This week's tilt against Tampa Bay is a Pick 'Em.

The early games provided shockers for some and others not, but the biggest upset in the early game comes when the Miami Dolphins stunned New England Patriots 27-24 and by doing so, Kansas City Chiefs clinches #2 in the AFC seed (and a first round bye) with a 31-21 win over Los Angeles Chargers.

In the other early games, Green Bay Packers get a first round bye with a 23-20 comeback win over the Detroit Lions, the New York Jets won 13-6 over the Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears defeated the Minnesota Vikings 21-19 (although too little too late playoff wise), Cincinnati Bengals take the Battle of Ohio 33-23 over the Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints easily handled the Carolina Panthers 42-10, and the Atlanta Falcons take an overtime win (on an interception TD return) over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 28-22.

Late games are going on now and the final game comes at night to close out the regular season.

Jameis Winston's pick-six was the seventh he's thrown this season, the most since 1950.

The Buccaneers need to move on from Jameis Winston. It doesn't matter how many yards or touchdowns you have if you continue to hurt your team with turnovers.

Meanwhile, the Titans and Eagles will take the final two playoff berths.

Sunday Night Football is HUGE for the 49ers. With a win the 49ers get the number 1 seed and the 1st round bye that comes with it. If they lose, they're a 5 seed and don't get the bye. The game is less important for the Seahawks since they can't get a 1st round bye either way.

Doesn’t mean it’s not important to Seattle. It’s the difference between playing at home in the playoffs versus having to travel to Philadelphia. Pretty sure that’s plenty of incentive. They’d love nothing more than to send the 49ers to Philadelphia.
