I'm just hoping that Alex can make it through this season, so he's in my thoughts and prayers as well.

Another update from Alex, and it doesn't sound good at all as he has begun to get sores inside his mouth from the chemotherapy.

Saw it ... looks like the end is in sight, sad to say. We'll see.

Wishing nothing but the best for Alex Trebek, his family and loved ones.

This sounds very much like someone who knows that in the not very short term, he will need to step away from the show. It’s incredibly sad, and I wish comfort for him and his loved ones.

I wonder what will happen to the rest of Season 36: My prediction is we'll see a few tapings get cancelled, resulting in a truncated season, then a new host will be installed for Season 37. As hard as it is to imagine, that's the route the show will have to take in light of this not-so-encouraging news. I'm really hoping he pulls through, though it will be a very long shot.

With respect to Mr. Trebek, let’s try not to speculate about the future of Jeopardy! right now.  That day will come, hopefully further away than this most recent report would infer, and we can tackle the discussion then.  For now, my prayers are with him in this battle, and I know I will try to more frequently watch and appreciate the new episodes he’s so bravely hosting during this time and hope for many more to come.
Pardon my language, but I do believe we all need to calm the f*** down.

This from a Jeopardy! fan site via the site Radio Discussions:

A friend of mine went to a Jeopardy! taping last Wednesday. She saw the Thurs. and Fri. games. They have changed the schedule, and Alex does three games one day and two on another. He can't do five a day anymore. She said he didn't look well, and he had to re-record quite a few answers. He also had a coughing fit and was doubled over in pain because he had fallen and injured, but not broken, a rib. They had to stop the tape. He then announced that he would be taking two weeks off for various tests. He was done with the latest round of chemo and was stopping immunotherapy because it wasn't working. This doesn't sound promising. (These shows will air in January. Alex joked that the audience should have been there for the Christmas show, because they gave out gifts. Then he admitted he was joking; he doesn't have the kind of money Oprah does.)
