I'm not sure when this was taped in Gene's set of shows, but.....his energy introducing Bob seemed a lot stronger than episodes before this best I could tell. As much of a bad fit as he was, I thought he was good in this instance there.

It's rare to not have the regular buzzer go off during this episode, let alone using it at all from what I know.

By this time, Danger Price has moved to its current Door #2 location and using its second board, moving the timeline up by a few months.

A Kennedy episode had the new Danger board in use with Johnny still announcing, so it was likely in use for a few weeks at this point. The added backdrops would of course be in place by January 1986. Trust me, Gene Wood is in the top five announcers of all time (behind Johnny Olsen, Johnny Gilbert, Charlie O'Donnell, and Rod), but Rod seemed to have an extra something that gave the energy in his enthusiasm, tone, and later his jackets.

Now that's what you call an unlucky "Debbie Downer" in Secret X.

Oh yeah I agree with that, especially in his earlier years, but the energy seemed a little higher in the open here at least for Gene to me.
