Magic # was begging to be won, that was a total softball setup. I can't remember seeing a range between the two prizes that high before.

Robert on Cover Up fell head-first into the trap of "get as many numbers right as you can quickly". Getting the first three right on the first play made those last two incredibly difficult to pick up after.

When I heard Fiat Spyder in the second showcase, especially being a convertible, I was expecting a $40k showcase minimum, I was totally shocked at that price.

Ironically enough, Robert actually avoided the 0/5 rule in Cover Up initially, then went back to it. Tough loss.

You mean the 0/5/9 rule.

Even with that, have we ever seen a car end in -50 in the post-Roger era in a game where the price matters?

Once again, the car games lay a big, fat goose egg, but the $21,000-plus winnings from the five games that followed $250,000 Punch-a-Bunch made up a nice bonus for the Showcase winner. Magic # may have had the most obvious setup ever, with a $6,122 spread between the luggage and the trip. I was shocked that the Spyder Showcase was less than what Leah, and everyone else, had thought.

A long time ago, someone asked what a "Forced Win" was.

I present today's playing of Magic #.

No, although I do remember a That’s Too Much! playing in the Richards era where the ARP of the car was exactly $25,000. Then again, guessing the exact price of the car isn’t necessary in that game.

I don't toss around saying they should retire games, but if Magic # is going to continue to be set up like this, sack it.
They can be close at the top, too.

I'm all for a game having an easy setup every once in awhile, but yeah....this is ridiculous.  Thankfully they don't do it very often.

This is also what happens when you have a bare minimum winnings set. TPTB can probably work on this by offering more products from $2000-$4000

Has this been proven fact (don't watch much anymore)?  If it is, either start the number up in the 3000s or make the number a cash bonus on a win to inflate the package.

It's pretty noticeable the minimum is $5000 for a pricing game. $2000-$4000 options are probably best.

Imagine the chaos if a contestant lost with a range that huge.
CSS: Exacta, 6/3/2019
Lifetime earnings: $1,896,732
Season 18 cash earnings: $629,243
Season 19 cash earnings: $490,110

...............................

Live for the present.  Embrace the future.  Our favorite game show is still producing excellent, high quality, exciting, hour-long* shows every weekday throughout its traditional season window.  It’s as good as it’s been in a long, long time.  If the 1980s were the ‘good ole days’ for the Barker era, so is RIGHT NOW for the Carey era.  Don’t worry about what the future holds.  It will play out in due time.  Enjoy what we have right in front of us in the meantime!

I think I’d walk off stage Steve Harvey-style if I was Drew Carey there
