The production of this show is just all over the place right now. I realize it might take a few weeks to get things stabilized and in place after Mike left, but the setups were all over the place today. Spree was very hard, which seems odd for a show with the progressive jackpot. They might have been banking on Money and Cliff being won, but neither of those are ever guarantees, as today showed. Speaking of Cliff, where is Secret X this season? This is the furthest we've gone into a season without playing that game in a long time. It's much easier to guarantee a win on that game because, while Cliff is won most of the time, you never know what outrageous guesses people will come up with there. They were lucky Line and DP saved their bacon a little bit.

We discovered today that partial winnings are counted toward the jackpot, which seems arbitrary. It directly contradicts what Drew says before PG2 which is that "if a game is won, those winnings count toward the jackpot". Money and Cliff were not won by anyone's definition of that word, so why does that $248 count? The rules of this seem inconsistent. It makes me wish even more than Line and DP were lost so they could build hype over giving away a progressive jackpot of $248 :)

The one-bids and prizes have been pretty reasonable this week, and then we randomly get a $13,000 trip as the first item up for bids today. I mean, that's cool, I guess, to do literally once or twice ever, but with no context it seems silly. No cars in the SCs was also a curious decision on Big Money Week, though I appreciate the effort to have somewhat more budget-conscious SCs this year.

They're still creating a relatively enjoyable product and we've had two big money wins this week. The lineups have been at least decent all 4 shows this week as well, and seem to be improving this year. But for those of us who watch the show closely, today was filled with quite a few puzzling production decisions.

Was there an edit in SCSD#2?  It looked like there was a point where a spin may have been edited.

I knew that Money Game was gonna go south after Leslie picked 48 as the last two numbers.

As a community, how many times have we come back here and repeated this rule:  DON'T EVER... EVER... EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER... PICK THE SEASON NUMBER IN MONEY GAME.  It's almost always a WRONG pick!

As bad as the guess of 48 was in Money Game, the guess of 20 was much, much, much, much worse--that was obviously an option for the first two numbers of the car, not the last. Such a shame too; after she got the first two numbers right with her first pick, she really had a great chance to win the car.

We discovered today that partial winnings are counted toward the jackpot, which seems arbitrary. It directly contradicts what Drew says before PG2 which is that "if a game is won, those winnings count toward the jackpot".

But it does follow the Celebrity Charity Week rule of "anything that's won in a pricing game counts" (and doesn't require exceptions and special explanations).

I haven't been watching, but has this progressive jackpot been highlighting the disparity between the big money gimmick and the rest of the episode? "Paula won a $13,000 trip to Monte Carlo and $100,000 in cash! The other five onstage contestants, combined, have won a total of $28,000."

Paula may not have made it up on stage with Bob back in '88, but she just wrote the sweetest redemption story ever with her $100,000 win in Let em Roll!

And kudos to Daryl for his one-shot win in Line em Up!

Very unusual to have a (usual) car game not played for a car. I know we have a tracker for when a non-car game is played for a car, but this was the other way around. Any history of this?

Spree was very hard, which seems odd for a show with the progressive jackpot.

Respectfully disagree; Chromebooks are absolutely cheap and I figure anyone who knew that would have had an easy win locked up.

Past Big Money Weeks have included Hole in One, Master Key, Pass the Buck, Rat Race and Spelling Bee being played for cash in lieu of a car.
