They really really didn't want any car games won today.

Really wish they would stop putting Mitsubishi Mirages in the Showcases. Maybe it's just because I'm a bit of a car guy, but the cheapest, crummiest rental car you'd get from Hertz doesn't scream "grand prize" to me.

Would have been nice to get a clip of Paul in his original appearance like they've done for other former contestants, unless maybe he won a fur coat...

$18,014 is probably the nastiest car price I've ever seen in Any Number.

How unusual was it to see a 0 as the 3rd number of a car in Any Number , the last time it happened was on 5/26/2008.

Kara played Check-Out very well, being just 61¢ away from the real total.

The show really messed up by not showing Paul's original appearance with Bob, but I'm so glad that he won his second Showcase today.

I asked during yesterday's chat whether anyone had won the Showcase Showdown with $.05, and today I got my answer as to when that last happened.  :D

Oh, and absolutely evil car price in Any Number. Makes me think of the one $7,010 L7 playing I once read about, apparently that was Jay Wolpert's doing.

Poor Paul.  I NEVER would have thought the 0 was the third digit!!!  I thought the car price was $18,214.  That was a nasty NASTY Any Number.  Well at least he got his revenge in the showcase.
And at least he didn't get that damned piggy bank too.

Even Card Game was EVIL!   $25K plus car was asking for trouble.  Even the $5K range you had to work for it!

Both facebook and twitter both posted a quick video of Paul's appearance in 1979. He played Hurdles on that show.

Looking on YT, happened at least once in Drew's 2nd year, same scenario oddly enough with the same 1st number for 2nd spinner at .35 cents. Idk about between that or before. I'd be curious when the last time someone actually won on 5 cents in a non both spinners ahead of you goes over situation personally.

I very highly doubt that's ever happened. The only way to end up with 5 cents, except as the third spinner where the first two spinners went over, is to spin 5 cents and not spin again. No sane contestant would stay on 5 cents.

I had started to say no, it could happen in a spinoff, but even then...the lowest would be possible win would be .10 cents.....since .5 is the lowest possible spin (meaning you'd have another spinoff), so you're right it would be highly improbable. Mea Culpa on my part.

Actually looking at it more further, they now say September 1977 for the clip, whether if it was aired that month or taped and aired in late October or early November, I don't know. But what I do know is that due to no copyright year at the end yet in daytime and Johnny O's announcement, 1977 is correct.
