Few notes:

- that was a lengthy showcase showdown!
- The Talk premiered in Oct. 2010. It’s barely nine years old. It seems a little early to celebrate the 10th anniversary. It’s just like how Price celebrated its 25th anniversary in Aug. 1996, despite the fact that the show was on air for only just under 24 years up to that point. Maybe I’m just being nitpicky (I probably am), but I think they’re just using “season” and “anniversary” interchangeably.

I guess we know why the pricing games finished short. Two spinoffs and a dollar? Goodness gracious!

Live for the present.  Embrace the future.  Our favorite game show is still producing excellent, high quality, exciting, hour-long* shows every weekday throughout its traditional season window.  It’s as good as it’s been in a long, long time.  If the 1980s were the ‘good ole days’ for the Barker era, so is RIGHT NOW for the Carey era.  Don’t worry about what the future holds.  It will play out in due time.  Enjoy what we have right in front of us in the meantime!

It leans towards season-based.

Grocery Game: That was a terrible strategy. Even if that had been a smaller bag of chips, she should have taken 2 or at most 3 of them and used the cheaper products to get to within the $20-$22 range.

Money Game: I haven't looked at the actual data to be sure, but it seems more people are picking the season number this year than they have in the past.

Double Prices: With two scooters, the even price was much more likely to be correct. Good choice!

Plinko: Yay for $10,000 being hit! Boo for where she dropped the chips from, though. I don't know why contestants are so afraid to drop chips from the center slot.

Pick a Number: Easy. No way a trip to Japan would be less than $7,000.

More or Less: I liked David as a contestant, as he seemed truly grateful to be there. But that elliptical trainer was obviously more than $1,500.

Overall: when I saw they were celebrating the 10th season of The Talk, my first thought was "oh no." But they didn't overplay it during the show. I'd much rather them not have this kind of show at all, but at least they didn't overdo it.

It'll very likely happen again on The Price is Right in 2 years when they celebrate the 50th season on CBS--the show premiered in 1972 and the celebration will begin in 2021, 49 years later. I do agree they should be careful to use the word "season" instead of "anniversary."

If I were to have free reign in choosing what pricing games would be on an episode, today's lineup would be very close to the lineup I would go with.  Make Double Prices first, then Pocket Change instead of Money Game, and then Vend-o-Price instead of Grocery Game.  Keep the second half unchanged

When the show did a primetime anniversary special back in Season 30, at least they got the year right (2002). Same deal when they did the 40th anniversary special in 2012, and IIRC, it aired on the exact same date as the very first episode.

Four chips should've done the trick for Ashley in Grocery Game...and speaking of chips, glad to see the last one in Plinko land in $10,000.

Double prices was over before they opened the big doors. The show literally does not offer pricing game prizes under $5,000 and has not for quite some time. Anyone with this knowledge would know immediately that $4,821 was wrong. What kind of a fake price is 4,821 anyway? I really do wonder sometimes how they come up with their fake prices.

The kind that was used in 8671K.

That is a good question-- how do they decide on the fake/incorrect prices? Is there some kind of method, or is it just think up something that makes some sense and is either really easy or difficult depending on the budget?

The kind that was used in 8671K.
So the fake price tag seen on today’s show was reused from a previous show? Or do they print a new price tag with each playing? Do they have a giant folder full of previous prices?

Do they have a giant folder full of previous prices?

Drawers upon drawers!

Now that Double Prices has its own dedicated tags, I assume that all of those drawers in that one cabinet have been relabeled "One Right Price."
