Oh Alexis...you should've kept that $5,000, although I don't blame you taking the risks that obviously weren't paying off.

And Susie being $291 away from winning the car was the most painful moment of the entire show.

I couldn't agree with you more about that decision. I would have kept the $5,000.

Fixed broken code.

I will never understand people who throw away $5,000 on Punch-a-Bunch given that there are only three cards higher. A couple did the same thing in 2016 (husband wanted to stop, wife kept going), and I don’t remember how much they won, but it was significantly less than $5,000.

I think Punchy strategy is usually easy. If you have less than $2500, then go on. If you have more than $2500 stop. $2500 is the only amount that requires some real thought.

Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

I really liked this lineup, but it got soured by some really unnecessary losses. First there was Punchy. Okay, so he was a gambler. Fair enough. But given the distribution on the board, I really can't justify that kind of risk. Then there was Pick-a-Pair. Maybe it's because everybody else is really clueless about grocery prices, but that one looked like an easy setup to me. Then there's Double Prices. I mean, come on now. 15k for a trip to Quebec? No way. Then there was Card Game. I will admit, it was played well, but that $291 difference was just rotten luck.

The only game won was Most Expensive, which explains why I rate this show a  :headbang:
CSS: Exacta, 6/3/2019
Lifetime earnings: $1,896,732
Season 18 cash earnings: $629,243
Season 19 cash earnings: $490,110
FPG: 2019-2020 Finals Champion

Live for the present.  Embrace the future.  Our favorite game show is still producing excellent, high quality, exciting, hour-long* shows every weekday throughout its traditional season window.  It’s as good as it’s been in a long, long time.  If the 1980s were the ‘good ole days’ for the Barker era, so is RIGHT NOW for the Carey era.  Don’t worry about what the future holds.  It will play out in due time.  Enjoy what we have right in front of us in the meantime!

I really liked this lineup...

I thought that this episode’s lineup was interesting with regard to the fact that Pick-A-Pair was the newest/most recently debuted pricing game of the six, and the only one to have debuted after 1980.  All the rest premiered in the 70s, two of them on the first show.  Just kind of struck me as intriguing; while ~half of the games (and I’m talking very “ballpark” figure here) still in the rotation premiered in the 70s, to have a lineup of games that are all >35 yrs old in the same episode is something that just jumped out at me somehow.
