*shrugs*
I'd rule out 62/5275/764 (I refuse to think a prize of a trip ends in a 5), 625/27/5764 (Snorkeling gear is way more than $30), and 625/2757/64 (Trip better be over $5,000).

From 62/527/5764, 6252/75/764, and 6252/757/64, I couldn't really help. I think the first one could be thrown out, since surfboards are a bit pricey, but good luck choosing between the other two. If I absolutely had to pick either one of those, I would choose the former, since it makes each of the smaller prizes a little more expensive, but you could just as easily read the psychology for a slightly cheaper setup.
"If any show, forget sports, Price is Right, [the audience is] the star of the show. Somebody... coming on down and losing their minds, and ... crying, that's the show. The show isn't me, the show isn't necessarily [a] can of soup, how much that is, it's watching people go bananas, and there's going to be some of that missing."

I guess this show didn't turn out as bad as I thought. I wish I could've stuck with the full hour but I didn't gather enough interest I guess. I don't know if it was the concept/theme for this show or if I'm lacking in something that other hosts have that I don't but if I cant generate enough interest I don't know how many more shows I'll do. Thank you to those of you who participated. Here is a rundown of the Showcases:

SC1: Powered Up ($38,179)
1) HP Pavilion 27" Touchscreen All-in-one PC Intel Core i5- 8400T 1.7GHz 2TB HDD 128GB SSD Windows 10 Home ($1,400), Bush Furniture Somerset 72" Office Desk w/ Hutch & Lateral File Cabinet in Mocha Cherry ($1,525), Flash Furniture C1360 Leather Soft Traditional Executive Chair ($1,315) (TOTAL $4,240 per Staples)
2) BodyCraft GLX Strength Training System ($2,499 per HomeFit)
3) Toyota 86 6M (std, Hood Deflector & Premium Display Audio w/ Navigation) ($31,440 per toyota.ca)

SC2: Splendido ($29,094)
1) Shilo 7pc Dining Set ($3,294 per The Brick), Newcastle Buffet & Hutch ($2,299 per The Brick) w/ Dinnerware Denby Halo 16pc Stoneware ($760 per Hudson's Bay) & 200sqft. Torlys Luxury Vinyl Flooring ($3.49/sqft x 200 = $698) (TOTAL $7,051)
2) Year Supply of Edible Arrangements (Large Celebration Dipped Fruit Delight $138 x 12 = $1,656)

I thought it was a great show! Well-hosted, well-presented, and most importantly it felt like the show. Not every show needs a "special" theme.

As for the number of people signing up--I don't think it's a reflection on your hosting style, most of the shows have been getting around 6-9 signups recently. It's a good number for a half-hour show.

I think the half-hour shows work with the number of signups the section is currently getting. I don't know how many prospective hosts are in the queue, but as long as there's enough hosting interest to meet demand I think the section will be fine with half-hour shows.

The other alternative I can think of is rather than having a HYO going at all times, making HYOs a seasonal thing that opens during the summer months.

Coming in late here, but just a random side note.  I’ve been too busy lately to participate, or else I would totally sign up!  I appreciate that the spirit of HYO is still going strong, even if participation is down.  I think some of that is largely due to some of us simply having busier schedules than we used to, combined with there being such an abundance of content out there these days for consumption across the web.  Plus overall site activity isn’t exactly at an all-time high, which may be due in large part to the former potential issues I just addressed.  I think keeping HYO open year-round is fine.  If we go an extended period without a show, then so be it.  I’d rather have quality over quantity, anyway.
Pardon my language, but I do believe we all need to calm the f*** down.
