Live for the present.  Embrace the future.  Our favorite game show is still producing excellent, high quality, exciting, hour-long* shows every weekday throughout its traditional season window.  It’s as good as it’s been in a long, long time.  If the 1980s were the ‘good ole days’ for the Barker era, so is RIGHT NOW for the Carey era.  Don’t worry about what the future holds.  It will play out in due time.  Enjoy what we have right in front of us in the meantime!

Some trivia: Olivia de Havilland lived 53 years after the death of the third (of four) main actors in Gone With the Wind. Vivien Leigh, who was Scarlett O’Hara, died in July 1967.

Leslie Howard, who was Ashley Wilkes, died in 1943 (the first to leave us), while Clark Gable (Rhett Butler) passed in 1960.

I do wonder if MeTV will show the 1981 episode that guest-starred de Havilland?

RIP Olivia de Havilland.

Longtime college basketball coach Lou Henson, best known for his time at Illinois where he led the Illini to a Final Four appearances in 1989 has died at the age of 88. It's too bad Henson never won a National Championship, but he still had a very successful career with the 779 total wins and being the all time winningest coach at Illinois and New Mexico State.

Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

This is probably why Henson (I always wondered if there was a relation of any kind to Jim, and haven't seen any to date) isn't as remembered as other legendary college coaches, that he never did reach the top of the mountain (although his 1988-89 Illinois squad came really close).  But his career is very impressive when one looks closer, and he really should be remembered.

Wilford Brimley was a part of my childhood and teenage years watching his commercials during TPIR. He was also a rodeo roughstock rider way back in the day and was even a guest at many rodeos later in life.

Will definitely miss him.
