Wow, very sad to hear about Chadwick's passing. Had no idea he had cancer.

Talk about shocking celebrity deaths. My first reaction on hearing the news was "Wait, there must be another Chadwick Boseman I don't know about."

It's nothing short of incredible that while quietly battling Stage 3 cancer, he was able to film so many star-defying roles and great performances, knowing his time was likely limited. Condolences to his family.
Quote from: Bill Todman
"The sign of a good game, is when you don't have to explain it every day. The key is not simplicity, but apparent simplicity. Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."

Also, Cliff Robinson (or Uncle Cliffy as he came to be known during his 2 year stint as a Piston here in Detroit when they were just starting their path to relevance again in the early 2000's), has passed it was announced today at 53. This one shocked me. He was a great role player when he played here. RIP big man. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29765226/former-portland-trail-blazers-great-cliff-robinson-dies-53

The article stated he suffered a stroke 2 1/2 years ago, not sure if that was public knowledge at all. He was Uncle Cliffy during his time with the Nets as well, losing him to a drug suspension further hurt the Nets in their playoff series against the Heat in 2006.

I don't remember hearing that, but I saw that too. And interesting he had the nickname after he left Detroit too, hadn't recalled that. I vaguely recall the drug suspension I think though, but a bit hazy.

Chadwick's passing also caught me by surprise.  I pretty much forgot he had cancer.  That and the news of it came at a time where so much was going on.  Add that to the fact that Boseman did so much prior to his death was a shocker.

What a great role model.  He'll be missed for sure, but doing a lot of stuff in film and outside of it emulated what Stuart Scott said years back by living on the terms one makes, and not cancer's.

Mets pitching legend Tom Seaver passes on at 75:

I would have rather have seen the Mets lose last night's game to my O's than one of their players (which incidentally, also beat my O's in '69 during Game 4 of the WS after losing the first game).

RIP

Tom vs. the Atlanta Braves in the 1969 NLCS was Man vs. Boys. Heck the whole Mets team against the Braves was Men vs. Boys.

Another loss for baseball, Cardinals Hall of Famer Lou Brock, for years the all time stolen base king, plus a member of the 3,000 club (and perennial bane of Ernie Broglio's existence after their extremely lopsided trade for each other), passes on at 81:
