Internationally, Oman's Sultan Qaboos passes on at 79 after almost 50 years on the throne following a long illness.  His cousin Haitham bin Said has been selected to assume the throne next:

WWE Hall of Fame wrestler "Soul Man" Rocky Johnson, the father of actor/wrestler Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, has passed away at age 75, per this article from HeelByNature.com.

Among his many accomplishments, Johnson (alongside fellow WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas) was one half of the first African-American tag team to win the then-WWF Tag Team Championship in 1983.

Brice Armstrong, the narrator of Funimation's english dub of Dragon Ball and voice of Captain Ginyu in DBZ, died 1/10/20 from natural causes. He was 84.

Terry Jones, a member of the famous British comedy troupe Monty Python, passed away at age 77, according to CNN.

After the break-up of the Monty Python group, Jones wrote the screenplay for the 1986 Jim Henson film "Labyrinth."
