.....and in the case of "The Last Word", Jennifer Lyall handled announcing/co-hosting/CanCon compliance.

I do wonder, however, how "Beat the Clock" was able to somehow get around CanCon back in the day. Gene Wood wasn't Canadian, Nick Hollinrake never got camera time, and a lot of the celebrities they booked were not Canadian....perhaps the models/assistants were enough to meet the guidelines???

The regulations were really only just starting back then. It went into effect in 1972, just when Gene started. So that might have something to do with it, but hard to say for sure.

....and the show moved to Montreal in (IIRC) 1970, back when Narz was still hosting and Gene was announcing. I had speculated to myself that, perhaps, BTC was grandfathered in once the regulations were passed.
Everybody got to deviate from the norm.....

Yeah the video I linked referenced that as a possible reason when talking about CanCon's history in regards to game shows. It coulda been.

Very cool! Wayne has been a treat to work with, and that "hair and teeth" line is episode 2, ha ha.

He was wonderful to work with. He and I did this on twitter for interview purposes. I'm autistic and a bit telephone shy. He was completely gracious. :)
