Windows 7 Reaches End Of Support
« on: January 14, 2020, 12:44:33 PM »
Well, it's hard to believe that today is the day that Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft after more than 10 years on the support lifecycle (the PC will still work though). Just like Windows XP, 7 was one of the best operating systems that was used since general availability more than 10 years ago.

Now if you do want to continue getting updates there is a paid Extended Security Update for Professional/Enterprise users that will keep updates going through January 2023, as well as a BypassESU tool for all editions of Windows 7 just like a hack that kept Windows XP going through 2019.

Purchased it in Feb. 2010 with my home PC. The monitor died years ago as well as the printer and it isn't as fast with all the add-ons, but I still prefer it at home with the Windows Movie Maker. But a replacement is coming in the medium term. My office switched over from 7 to 10 last fall.
Now open for tape trading! Please PM me for an offer with a list included.

When I worked in the computer services department summer 2018 at the university I attended, there were still around 700 computers running Windows 7.

I've been working in the IT department at my hometown school district since August 2019 and have yet to come across a Windows 7 computer. I think there are some out there though, but our department likes to keep everyone updated (I've seen a handful of computers running 8 and 8.1 that we re-image to 10.)
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.
