On this day (really yesterday) 20 years ago, a crazy-haired man named Curtis Warren won an additional $1,000,000 on the self-proclaimed “richest, most dangerous game on television” known as Greed. His total of $1.41 million, combined with his Sale of the Century winnings briefly made him the biggest winner in the history of U.S. game shows. His record stood for less than a week until David Legler won $1.765 million on Twenty-One.
