I think Jerry ruined his chances with that guess of '0' for the first number. I can't remember if they ever used '0' in Lucky $even. (Maybe in the 70s?)

Owww, owww, owww on Stack the Deck ... the right two numbers (besides the "2," which was the gimmie number) ... just in the wrong order. Still, to go 2-for-3 in the grocery pricing game part of the game in Stack is doing well, IMO.

People seriously need to stop thinking the last digit in Stack will be a 0/5/9. They need to guess the last digit as their first freebie. In the Roger era, it was better to go 4-3-2, but with him gone and the sudden skyrocket of fake 0/5/9s in car games, the best digits to choose for free are 5-4-3. The easier car games like Cover Up and One Away tend to put correct 0/5/9s on special episodes to make a win more likely, but Stack will never ever have "nice" ending digits again, and people hardly ever win it unless they do get all three GP's.

And I wish they wouldn't allow people to guess zero in Lucky Seven since they haven't been used in that game for decades. Once they stopped, didn't Bob generally disallow zero guesses or at least try to steer people away from it? Whereas the current regime/Drew just accepts it, probably for the sake of better odds at a loss.

Actually, three of the six playings this season has had the price of the car end in 9. Either way, this game is still very difficult even when it is set up fairly easy.

After the car was revealed, Jerry said “my daughter has one of these!” A Honda Civic LX base model is $19,850. If you’re familiar with the car, choosing 0 for the second number isn’t a terrible choice. In fact, it’s a great choice. Drew even remarked that it was a great choice.

Jerry’s problem wasn’t guessing “0” on the second number, his problem was jumping around and zigging when he should have zagged, the same issue that gets most Lucky Seven players.
Quote from: Bill Todman
"The sign of a good game, is when you don't have to explain it every day. The key is not simplicity, but apparent simplicity. Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."

The Danger Price on today's show was $2419.  Not $2149.  The 1 and the 4 are in reverse when that price was picked.

He was only off by one number guessing 0. He was 3 numbers off on his other two guesses, so obviously that hurt him much more.

Unless they change the rules to have Drew specifically say there's no 0's in the price — and there's no reason why they should — I don't see why they shouldn't allow it.  By that logic they shouldn't allow people who don't know any better to waste turns with guesses that don't end in 0 in Ten Chances, either.

If there is any one pricing game I hate with every fiber of my being, it's Stack The Deck.  Just putting that out there.  Having said that, this playing of that game broke my heart into pieces.

An article that doesn't call the Showcase the "Showcase Showdown" - hallelujah!  :P

I expect nothing less from Augusta! (Although, I don't know why they didn't interview me when I won on the show... Oh well, I plan on going back out there in 3,208 days anyway...)
