WIVB had a full 65-minute pre-emption for Gov. Andrew Cuomo's press conference so I had to use the WC feed. Apologies on the delay. There is a show tomorrow, 8931K will finally air.

What was the range selected for Card Game?  It would be pretty generous of them if there was a $31,000 card in the deck though  :oldlol:

Looks like I didn't miss anything too exciting today at least.

It was $3,000.

I thought we had an easy setup in Half Off, but the last set of small prizes tripped me up, just like the contestant.

That third set for Half Off was EVIL!!!!   I too thought the Garage Door Hub along with Latoya.

Believe it or not I actually picked 4 for the box.  It was a tough tossup since it was all single numbers though.

So much for the trip to the NCAA Finals. What happens in the rare instance like this where the prize can’t be fulfilled? Too bad so sad?

In such a circumstance, perhaps the prize would be replaced with the equivalent cash value?
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

Cash substitute seems likely. Only Kathy will know for sure.
Quote from: Bill Todman
"The sign of a good game, is when you don't have to explain it every day. The key is not simplicity, but apparent simplicity. Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."

From the contestant paperwork:

"If for any reason the exact prize(s) is unavailable, Producer or its suppliers, at their discretion, may substitute an item(s) of equal or greater value (an "Alternate Prize") (i.e. the prize(s) I receive may be (i) the actual prize used on the stage and used in the Program; (ii) provided to me directly by the vendor; (iii) in the form of a gift card; (iv) any other prize of equal or greater value, at the suppliers' sole discretion); or (v) the cash value of such prize as determined by the Producer in its sole discretion ("Cash-In-Lieu"). To avoid doubt, the prize awarded may not be the exact prize displayed on the Program."

So my best guess is what they'll do about Kathy's trip depends on whether the trip was sponsored by someone or paid for directly out of CBS's pocket. If it was paid for by a sponsor, then they'll probably give Kathy a trip of equal or greater value at some point in the future. If it was directly out of CBS's pocket, CBS will probably send her a check for the amount the trip is worth.

I suppose in this rather rare case, they could also offer an option to postpone it (that is, have tickets to the 2021 Finals instead).

One might expect that it wouldn't be as hard as it might normally be to do something like this, given that the same network is the one that carries the games normally.
