This is the final recap for the week. There is no show tomorrow because of the Mother's Day Special that never taped due to COVID 19. If anyone asks why there is no episode tomorrow, that post will be reported accordingly. Here is the recap for the episode that will air in its place, last year's show.

It is a strategy, but with five products available, I don’t know why someone would (apparently) go for the $20 - $22 target in Grocery Game using just one. Well, the contestant would have won today if the Hawaiian rolls were just a tiny bit more expensive. :)

Good decision in Punch-A-Bunch, which today one might want to call “Kick One, and Punch-The-Rest”. Was that a first for the game?

During a Classic Concentration commercial, I peeked in and arrived during the Most Expensive prize plugs.

Did they edit out Drew explaining what the goal of the game was? It jumped directly to him asking "Is it..."

Card Game: Full credit to Vona for going for it with a $25,000 price--we've seen way too many underbids this season. Too bad it didn't work out.

Punch-a-Bunch: That was quite a kick! Too bad the old Route 66 didn't go through Utah or I could've made a bad pun about Nicole getting her kicks on route 66 .

Grocery Game: That was not a good playing. Save the cheapest item for last!

Did they edit out Drew explaining what the goal of the game was? It jumped directly to him asking "Is it..."

That wasn't the only awkward edit. During SCSD #1, after Carlos (the third spinner) spun 90 cents on his second spin, we never saw Drew reset the wheel to the 5 cent space for Vona's bonus spin. I suspect something was edited out there.

What about the car in Card Game magically transporting from Door #3 to center stage?

I've seen Card Game at a taping, and at least the time I saw it in person, the game was not edited. Stage hands push the car from door #3 to the stage while the camera is showing Drew and the contestant at the Card Game table.

Yes, in person, but it was definitely edited for the airing.

Or if the towels had been $1.99 also, as they were at one time - darn inflation!

Having not seen the dice game, something seems off?  It looks like a win with what is there (higher than 4, lower than 5 with the 1st & last rolled correctly)?

I wonder if there was a reason why Punch a Bunch's staging look off , the game was located more closer to the doors and the stand holding the 25k "bill" was behind the game itself instead of being in front of it.

Further evidence for me that it’s time for Card Game to head on into the sunset, it’s slow and boring, contestants largely seem confused by it, it’s rarely won. Here’s hoping that if TPIR is forced into an extended hiatus, they can use the time to develop some new pricing games so we can retire the dinosaurs.

Also, I know I was ragging in the Kia they offered the other day, but that $16k Mitsubishi Mirage? Yeesh, are we sure they didn’t bring in a Zonk prize from LMAD by mistake for Dice Game?

Card Game is a classic. They're not getting rid of it.

New pricing games take a long time to develop. And with social distancing still in place, it would be near impossible for the staff to get together in-person to create and build new games. So the T-Rex's and Brachiosaurus' are here to stay.

The old veteran games such as Card aren't going anywhere, nor should they.

You could say the same thing about Shopping Spree, which hasn't been seen since February 18th. But since it's not for a car, I doubt that you have the same feelings as Card.
"If any show, forget sports, Price is Right, [the audience is] the star of the show. Somebody... coming on down and losing their minds, and ... crying, that's the show. The show isn't me, the show isn't necessarily [a] can of soup, how much that is, it's watching people go bananas, and there's going to be some of that missing."

-Drew Carey, interview with Athletic, September 16, 2020

I doubt they would want to retire a game that they recently refurbished its set, and gave it major overhaul a few years before the refurbishment this season. It's not the most exciting game by any means, and its current reveal and set was a necessary addition to give the game flash it really needed.

Just caught this episode.  Regarding Card Game, they should just remove the 2's, 3's and 4's from the deck so the game goes faster and higher probability to draw an ace.    Drew can just say the deck is 5's thru Aces, with no low cards.
