Changing the second number in One Away was a dumb move, and we get another puny payout in Plinko...but we got another enjoyable show, with the Vend-O-Price winner getting $25,000 in bonus cash.

Although I must ask: What was up with presenting the car first in the second Showcase???

You have Do the Math listed as a loss. It was won.

I'm glad this show was a 4/6+partial, and the Vend-o-Price bonus was nice as well. I love that LCD screen that they used! Reminds me of how Sale of the Century showed their Cash Jackpot.

Did anybody notice the new season number in Money Game?  ;)

Live for the present.  Embrace the future.  Our favorite game show is still producing excellent, high quality, exciting, hour-long* shows every weekday throughout its traditional season window.  It’s as good as it’s been in a long, long time.  If the 1980s were the ‘good ole days’ for the Barker era, so is RIGHT NOW for the Carey era.  Don’t worry about what the future holds.  It will play out in due time.  Enjoy what we have right in front of us in the meantime!

Whoever decided to bump a clearly season-premiere show, with easier setups, Plinko, and intentional season premiere showcase themes, for the sake of a DSW on an otherwise bleh show, should be fired.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

I wasn't overwhelmed with today's show. It was ok, and obviously the first new show taped, just based from the excitement in George's voice at the top of the show. I would much prefer the bonus would be hidden in one of the 6 pricing games. This first winner gets it, is a little anti-climatic I feel, considering how they have had PG #1 set up so far these past two days. Plus the rather clumsy edit between Drew announcing he won the bonus, and it's reveal seemed like an after thought by the producers.
"It's a SuperBall prize package worth $11,245!!

Not actually the first show taped. First show taped airs September 30th. George is just naturally like that even when the cameras are off : )

I feel the bonuses would pay off a little better if they didn't announce that there was a bonus. Let's say someone is the first person to win their pricing game regardless of which slot, then Drew says 'oh wait there's more...' sort of thing. Just a dash more of excitement and surprise.

It's kind of weird to start a season without a car or cash, but I guess they wanted to play up the 48, so Vend-O-Price actually worked pretty well.

(Yes, I know they didn't air this one first, but they were going to.)

Push Over was next to impossible to lose.  $5,341 was the only other answer that was even close to reasonable.

At first, I thought they'd done something to the lights in the Plinko logo to make them stand out more, but once Janette got up there, I realized that they've actually darkened the top of the board.  It achieves the desired effect with the lights, but it looks really strange.

I like the new money graphics for the Big Wheel.  They seem a little small, though.

Plinko looks awkward. I understand if they’re trying to illuminate the actual Plinko logo and branding. Is this one of the Pricing Game cosmetic updates talked about in another thread?

Also speaking of set design, is this the debut of the big Chalkboard monitor (that displayed the $25,000 bonus)?

This is one of three (that I know of). There is a full remodel to come, and a strange set modification.

The dark background behind Plinko's name looks ridiculous, as though it's meant to be lit up too but just isn't.

Not a bad show today. Good win in the Money Game and nice twist on the second showcase.

Incidentally all the updated graphics (such as yesterday's Double Showcase Winner and today's $1,000 at the Wheel) remind me of the graphics used in The Price Is Right Decades game.
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

It's kind of weird to start a season without a car or cash, but I guess they wanted to play up the 48, so Vend-O-Price actually worked pretty well.

It also works well for the budget, as that prize package is slightly more affordable than a comparable "for a year" collection.

I agree, Plinko’s modification looks weird. The producers probably wanted to make the branding stand out more. But the way it’s handled seems like change for the sake of change.
