...i hate this... how do you lose such easy games...
Bring back Penny Ante, but have it with 3 prizes, one grocery item/prize, 5 pennies, and a $3-5K bonus for playing perfectly, and maybe, just maybe, I will enjoy the show more.

Edit: The showcases are better, so the show is being enjoyed.

...yeah.

Love the lineup. Really I do. Beefy games, two good quickies, and a 4p to boot. But this show was pretty much a cross between dumb playings and tough luck. Like who guesses $65 on a SP in Spelling Bee? And the appliances were a trap in T2, there was nothing over $4k there. On the other hand, Pick a Pair was Dob-mode evil, and Pocket Change was played better than most, fell just short, aw.

Live for the present.  Embrace the future.  Our favorite game show is still producing excellent, high quality, exciting, hour-long* shows every weekday throughout its traditional season window.  It’s as good as it’s been in a long, long time.  If the 1980s were the ‘good ole days’ for the Barker era, so is RIGHT NOW for the Carey era.  Don’t worry about what the future holds.  It will play out in due time.  Enjoy what we have right in front of us in the meantime!

I normally don't notice while watching, but doesn't playing Take Two and Pick a Pair basically back to back break some kind of conflict? From the picking two prizes to the second chances, it felt way too similar. I felt it a bit with Spelling Bee and Pocket Change with the card picking, but that's a bit of a stretch.

Either way, the show was enjoyable. The two dollar spins and Drew's interaction with Amber, James definitely helped

Pick-a-Pair's level of evil-ness  today all depends on where somebody does their shopping.  For people who go to Aldis, Wal-Mart, and other discount stores, it was brutally evil. You don't see that kind of pizza or oatmeal there.  For people who go to higher-end stores, it might not have been too bad, depending on what you buy/see there.

Spelling Bee: I can understand how someone would think an electric shaver is $65. Some really good ones can run $200 and they don't exactly provide a whole lot of description about the item to help the contestant figure out if it's a good one or a cheap one.

Take Two: Not an unreasonable loss. It's easy to think a computer would run around $2500.

Push Over: This was an unreasonable loss. That should've been won.

Pocket Change: Ouch.

Push Over seemed to be set up for a win, and it should've been.

Take Two: Can't blame Elizabeth for keeping the fire table after the first round.

Didn't expect the 4 to be the trap digit in Pocket Change. Tough break on the envelopes, too. Pocket Change is 7-2 in the last 3 seasons when the car price is $1.00 or less, but only 5-12 when the car price is $1.25 or more, so $1.25 seems to be around the tipping point. Didn't make the reveal of the last envelope any less heartbreaking, anyway.
