stack- ...... heh heh, STD. no wonder it sucks
Bring back Penny Ante, but have it with 3 prizes, one grocery item/prize, 5 pennies, and a $3-5K bonus for playing perfectly, and maybe, just maybe, I will enjoy the show more.

Edit: The showcases are better, so the show is being enjoyed.

Agreed, STD is one of the worst games, seems to always be setup for a loss or end up with defeat snatched out of the hand of victory. Always nice to see a $10k drop on Plinko, too bad he couldn’t follow through.

Now THIS is what is defined as a lineup win. 4P in Spree (which btw hadn't shown since Feb 18 before today), two solid car games, GP game, SP game, lesser-played two-prizer, a casher, and one quickie. It's all in there.

-Tough Spree but foosball tables aren't usually that expensive.
-Rotten Stack playing. Only had one correct pick but nearly nailed it. Too bad.
-Beautiful Card win. It's one of those playings that isn't a gimme but isn't super impossible either. Doesn't hurt that Orlene stopped at just the right time
-Love a $12k win in Plinko any day!!

Live for the present.  Embrace the future.  Our favorite game show is still producing excellent, high quality, exciting, hour-long* shows every weekday throughout its traditional season window.  It’s as good as it’s been in a long, long time.  If the 1980s were the ‘good ole days’ for the Barker era, so is RIGHT NOW for the Carey era.  Don’t worry about what the future holds.  It will play out in due time.  Enjoy what we have right in front of us in the meantime!

To solve the Stack the Deck problem, why not give the contestant the first number?

Stack the Deck: Ouch. I never would've guessed the last digit was a 5. I wonder if the producers were trying some reverse psychology there.

SCSD 1: After Carolyn spun her 30 cent total and Rick spun 5 cents on his first spin, Drew said something like, "You still have a chance Carolyn! Just like the Cleveland Browns still have a chance." Ouch!

2 for the Price of 1: Excellent playing. The last digit in this game is always 0 as long as 0 is a choice, so selecting the second digit as the freebie is the correct play. Once that was revealed to be the 4, the first digit had to be a 7, as the three correct digits are never all on the top or all on the bottom.

Card Game: Nice win!

Stack The Deck is one of my favorite games. I think the current game rules are fine, but the product pricing portion (alliteration :) ) could be made easier. It’s fantastic to see the game won; so close today. And again, along with 10 Chances, I would like to see it played for a $51K - $98K vehicle.

Despite Drew’s very poor explanation of the rules, indeed a nice Card Game win.

Stack the Deck is a perfectly fair and satisfying game when

1) it's played for a car that can be priced up to the thousands digit by an average contestant
2) all three GPs are fairly easy

When that happens, I like it almost as much as Pathfinder. Everything comes together like few games do; there's a big "aha" moment where everything clicks.
Quote from: Bill Todman
"The sign of a good game, is when you don't have to explain it every day. The key is not simplicity, but apparent simplicity. Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."

I agree with you about the grocery portion of Stack the Deck. That initially never came to my mind.

After a lot of thought, I think I came up with how Stacky should be setup if they continue to insist it be played for standard cars.

Two gimmie GP pairs, one tricky pair. Either have the first two digits obvious off the bat or obvious after one of the correct digits is shown.  At that point, you either have it won, or are looking at 1/3 odds.

If anything, they should give the last number since hardly anybody picks it when they earn a freebie and they almost-always get it wrong.

$51-98K? Jeez man, you have high taste.

I'd be happy with $25-$32K if they are going to leave it like it is. If they give a free digit, then keep the current cars.

Regardless, can we not have this discussion in the recap thread every time Stack is lost?
